Today, to kick off the Beta phase signup for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (located here), Square Enix released the opening cinematic for the MMORPG in its entirety! In addition to the footage we saw in the End of an Era trailer, the latter half heralds Eorzea’s rebirth — the beginning of the Seventh Astral Era. The PlayStation 3 beta phase will begin in conjunction with Phase 3 of the PC beta, but you can still sign up if you so choose. If you purchased a copy of Final Fantasy XIII that came with a FFXIV registration code, that slip will grant you priority selection for the PS3 beta.
For those of you who have a Legacy account, beta will begin in Mid-February, with drafts of beta testers being chosen afterwards. You can view the full development roadmap to launch below:
