The announcement is supposedly going to be made in early August at Square Enix's own yearly event (I forget what its called).

If a remake ever does get made, Square Enix must know not to change much and just make improvements. Updated graphics, voice acting, that's pretty much it. Maybe make slight references to Crisis Core and Dirge of Cerberus to connect everything accordingly. Everything else should remain the same...
