Well, I guess this is because they know that people that look like FFVII characters will make the game as popular as FFVII. I guess, anyway.

For me, there's a few. The first one was Yuffie. At the start of FFVII, she really annoyed me. It's only when I went on a date with her that I started to like her. And, also, Gogo. I started to like it during the ending movie.
