Well Final Fantasy XIII will have turn based combat, but is doing away with random encounters.

Although he was only a guest character, Reddas in Final Fantasy XII should've been introduced earlier in the game, and given time to develop. A real potential there, and he should've become an actual playable character.

When Aeris Died, I didn't cry, I just had that sad feeling as it was so unexpected. I have to admit, I shed a few tears at the end of Advent Children. I didn't cry at the end of X but was pretty emotional.
