I mostly play RPGs, but I also love action/adventure games (like Zelda) and RTS (like Warcraft and Age of Empires). Sports, racing and shooters I really don't like.
Oh, what a nice topic.
My all time favorite Disney songs are:
1) I'll Make a Man Out of You from Mulan. I like it so much I actually have it in my iPod.
2) I Can Go the Distance from Hercules- Great lyrics with a good message.
3) Why Should I Worry? from Oliver and Company- Very catchy...
Well, in my case, it is indeed Yiazmat. It took me four hours to beat him. He's followed by Omega Weapon (FFVIII), Emerald and Ruby Weapon (FFVII) at roughly 50 minutes. I know all of these superbosses can be beaten in much less than this, but it would require a lot of grinding and farming so I...
Well, I must say that I rank this game in my top 3 FF's, probably number 1 spot (but I can't decide between this one and FFX).
I loved how the story was well told and structured (except, like people have mentioned, the Occuria revelation which came far too late and could have been handled...
Well, here's my list of most handsome male characters in FF:
Balthier, Squall (even though I don't like his personality), Cloud, Reno, Irvine, Basch, Tidus, and Locke.
They're all so sexy.
Oh, and Sephy doesn't make the list because I really think his looks are overrated.
Personally, I really liked the soundtrack. I can name quite a few tracks that stood out for me. They are: Ozmone Plains, Ashe's Theme, Cerobbi Steppe, The Opening Theme, and of course, The Battle for Freedom. I actually found the soundtrack very rich in texture and atmosphere, which really...
Actually I really haven't maxed out stats in FF and I've beaten all of the superbosses. I'm gonna go game by game:
FFVII: I wasn't even level 99 when I beat Ruby and Emerald, much less maxed out. The trick to beating these superbosses is having the right materia combo.
FFVIII. I only maxed...
This is a very interesting topic, because I've noticed that RPGs can be divided into two categories depending on the focus of the story: political and metaphysical. Games like Xenosaga and FFX are heavy on the mataphysical part of the story, however they have a little bit of political themes...
I think that in part, Vayne wanted to free Ivalice from the Occuria. However, he was also misguided by a lust for power and desire to establish himself as the new Dynast King.
He thought that by eliminating any opposition to Archadia, he would actually do some good. He was simply delusional...
Well, I did every hunt (including Yiazmat and I also beat Omega Mk. XII), got the best equipment and all of the espers and I clocked in at 180 hours. If you don't do any of the sidequests I can see that it may seem short because that way the story moves at a brisk pace. However, if you're like...
Well, I got into FF in 2007 so pretty much all the titles at that time were available, except for FFXIII and Dissidia. But, I'm really eagerly waiting for FFXIII. Having played FFV-FFXII, I will go back to the origins of the series while I wait for this game.
Wow, I'm way too late to responding to this thread. But I've been just so busy with other things.
But I'll respond to all the points made, since the discussion going on is absolutely delicious.
I'm gonna go point by point:
1) Zidane and Cloud comparison: It's not like I don't like these...
FFVIII was a completely futuristic game with fantasy elements in it. I prefer more of a medieval fantasy feel to my games (at least for now because I've played enough futuristic games recently). But on the other hand I prefer a more realistic look to the game like FFVIII, but that doesn't mean...
Definitely, a static party. If the party is defined very early on in the game, I can start working on levelling them up and teaching them skills without the fear that they'll leave and then I'll have to train a new character to get him/her to be decent.
Allow me to play devil's advocate, but I'm gonna say that this cast indeed had chemistry. No more, no less than past FF's. People say that the characters don't have any emotion, but that's because they are so used to the overdone dialogue of past games (PS1 FFs are especially guilty of this)...
The voice acting in this game was superb. I loved all the accents. Well, maybe except Fran's.
Balthier, Ondore, Al-Cid, and Basch were all marvelous. It just makes the characters feel so much interesting and unique. I think it Square Enix made a good decision casting the actors they did.
Larsa was pivotal to the development of the plot. His personality is quite endearing like people have said. I think I would've liked him to be a permanent party member too. I also like his friendship with Penelo. It was cute.
Awesome character all around. The thing about Larsa is that he...
Definitely optional bosses. I hate large and tedious dungeons with a passion. Optional bosses on the other hand, give all the challenge of a hard dungeon and then some without most of the annoyances. It's a way to test your party against the ultimate enemy. I loved the monster arena in FFX and...
This might sound strange but I actually think it's FFXII. I really don't think FFIX is underrated because a lot of people like it and are very vocal about it. FFIX gets tons of love from the Final Fantasy fans.
FFXII, on the other hand, most of the comments that you hear is how underdeveloped...
