If you haven't played FFX yet I definitely recommend it, it's my second favourite after VII. Also do yourself a favour and avoid the compilation like a plague.

Probably 1 or 2, 1 had a better story while 2 had better gameplay. BBS was pretty good too.

I wasn't a fan of CoM's gameplay but can appreciate them trying something new, 358/2 Days was just boring and repetitive.

Why did his feelings grow for her in the first place? I mean it's not like she did anything but annoy the shit out of him (and the player). People always harp on about FF7's love story being "flat" and "undeveloped" but FF8's was even less believable for me. Also I just rewatched that scene...

It's definitely the least worst of the compilation, but that isn't saying much. I still hated what they did to the characters, especially Aerith, and Genesis was such a terrible addition who dragged down every scene he appeared in.

I'm not seeing the difference, he looks as much of a twig in the remake as he does in the original game. The only time he doesn't is in Nomura's promo artwork for Smash Bros. and the Play Arts Kai figure. Also anything that contradicts the compilation is a huge plus for me.

So far I've beaten 1 and 2 on the PS3. I think I've softlocked myself on Re:CoM and I can't be fucked starting over again so I might just watch a Let's Play instead. In the meantime I think I'll play Birth by Sleep next.

I used Yojimbo against Jecht, who kept dodging every one of his auto-counterattacks. As for Yevon I can't remember.

Cloud was never in SOLDIER, that was just his make believe fantasy. He was actually a common Shinra mook. You know these enemies you fight from the game: That's what Cloud really was.
