There are a few swords that can be upgraded to have more raw power. But the buster is going to be your best if your prefer the stagger feature. Just personal preferences!
Very much how I thought of the game. Took me a few days to get used to, but became really fun after that. Now its one of my favorite games in the series. Its one of those games where you just need to get through the initial phase.
Once you start powering up, its a lot more fun. As far as power goes, a powered up Cloud's sword (buster sword in Japan, not sure its name in the US) is the best (until you enter hard mode). Maxed out its attack goes to 3000, I think.
Not a bad idea. You'll find the second run much easier now that you know where things are. When you do get to HARD mode, there are quite a few weapons for sale that aren't in normal.
His only problem is having enough attack power. He does stay down, but for a limited time. If you don't kill him within that frame, he flies away again. lol
Oh, I agree its best not to read any strategy guides. I had a hell of a time with that boss, but after messing around and experimenting, I...
Well, I think its a ton of fun and that won't change. Thank you Square Enix for deciding to make this game! It was well worth my money :) :) :) I know many people who feel the same way.
And PLEASE include Lightning in 15. Even for a cameo. One of my favorite characters of the last 10 years.
Yup, those two :)
The weird thing at the end of the dungeon is very strong, but there is a VERY easy way to beat him that I discovered, even if you have low stats. I won't say here, but if you mess around he can be beat!
Aironite on the other hand was a nightmare to beat my first run. I...
I've been playing this game too long... I can now kill Caius in under 5 seconds...lol My stats are REAL close to 9999.
I kinda want to play from the beginning again without keeping my stats. I do remember him being a crazy pain the butt though. Exactly what I like to see in a boss! :)
I too dig Caius's sword. Great design!
The reason I think that leveling up the way they chose works, is because it fits with the story. Lightning is already powerful from the previous installments. Having her go back to square-one wouldn't make sense story-wise. She is also racing against the...
Well I'll get back on topic:
- Loved the fighting system. Bit of a learning curve, but I like things like perfect blocks, timed hits etc.
- The story worked for me. Some of it was corny here and there, and some of the side quest stories were weak. Overall though, it was Lightning's personal...
The great thing about RPGs is that they all reach people in different ways. Some click, some don't. Some bring forth tears or laughter, some don't. Same can be said of books, movies, etc. I can't tell you how many movies I liked that many hated. Or how many I hated that received critical acclaim...
There is a learning curve, for sure. Glad to hear you're enjoying it though! Once you figure out how to stop time and replenish GP by fighting, you'll find you have a TON of time to do everything. Just takes some getting used to!
A few things!:
- First, totally agree that the end boss was fun to fight. Wait till you fight the + version of him. MUCH MUCH MUCH harder.
- The two secret bosses are very strong. One of the two (in the secret cavern in dead dunes) is actually easy IF you figure out how to beat him. That's the...
How are you liking hard mode? What did you think of the ending, etc? Did you manage to beat both secret bosses on the first run?
Let's try and get some positive discussion going! There are plenty of threads that are critical of the game. Let's keep this one positive for those on the 2nd (or...
Do you realize how ridiculous you sound when you accuse me of lying, saying that I love a game? WHO ARE YOU to tell me what I love and don't? Just because you don't and because you find certain flaws, means that all others either must think the same way, or are liars? Wow, I pity you. Must be...
