I do agree with it, they changed up their mind about their original plot, which I guess, was probably inspired by the great success of FFVII, then changed, deciding to keep on creating something completely different for each game :ohshit:

Squall, Rinoa and Quistis were quite good for me (and a constant use of GF). I rarely used Irvivine, Zell or Selphie, considering them week, probably cause I trained them less than the others. It all depends on preferences, that make you concentrate your training efforts on some characters...
It was my first final fantasy game and I LOVED it, but I do think it was worth for its time, it wouldn`t suite for nowadays tastes. As far as I now, it is not even easy to get a copy of FFVIII: I have been serching for it, but in this damned island is not possible to find it, I do doubt it has...
I think the story itself is complete, a sequel or a prequel would ruin it but I`d love to see these characters around once more, maybe on a movie based on one of those few, good fanfictions on the net. At least, there wouldn`t be need of justifying the plot
