(Ian Dury and) The Blockheads (Funk/Jazz)
Aphrodite's Child(Progressive)
Haklik/The Clique(New Wave)
Queen (Classic Rock)
The Police(Reggae/Post-Punk)
Devo(New Wave/Philosophical)
Tears for Fears (New Wave)...
...and all others I've forgotten to mention!!
Hands down I prefer Post-Punk and New Wave, they're just so much more varied and ironically more energetic. But for Punk (Rock) I suppose The Sex Pistols and The Clash are great examples.
PS: You might also want to check out The Stranglers and The Jam too but they're more 'New Wave'...
Sorry guys, but Michael Jackson is just so overated! And let's not forget to mention he's a perve/paedo!!
Oh yeah, I know what you're all gonna say, but I prefer Gary Glitter.
I've been listening to quite alot of Devo recently. Remember that New Wave band in the 80s that did that song about "Whipping it", anyone? I suppose I've also been listening to Ian Dury too...
Battle of the Locust by Aphrodite's Child, it's so jazzy. I could imagine two of my characters walking into a room and a voice *somewhere* saying: "THE BATTLE OF THE LOCUST!" and a big fight ensuing.
Vinyl is awesome!! 666 by Aphrodite's Child is never the same after you hear it on Vinyl, the warmth of the instruments compared just make the CD edition look meek. On the other hand, vinyl is bulkier and also the needle is more prone to damage, not that that's a problem
Definately Haklik (Israeli Rock)!!

They have a completely unique sound and 'Sheled Umlal' (an Israeli Rock ballad) can make me feel really good inside. The videos I have provided is of two of their famous ones: 'Golem' and...
I think it was Focus - Best of Focus: Hocus Pocus
Godamn, it's so funky! Hocus Pocus, Sylvia and House of the King are present, aswell as my favourite: Harem Scarem!! Get it if you like Prog and pure madness...
I only really listen to the music but I watch my mate play the game (I'm not really a gamer).
My favourite, as it's so funky, and becuase of Dancing Mad and Magitek Research Facility: FF VI.
I kinda prefer older soundtracks!!
