I never draw 300 spells for everything, only for hard to get magic. A lot of spells can easily be refined from items. When I do draw 100 spells per character, I make sure they have strong magic junctions, so they draw nine spells at a time. This makes the whole drawing process a lot less painful.

Except for GF. GFs take to long and cause too little damage. I never even junction the GF command, and always junction ITEM instead (or CARD), because it gives you more options.

I always choose 10 minutes, and defeat Ifrit with 3:30+ left on the clock, which is no good for a high seed score. But it's the fastest I can manage without any effort (and without excaping). Also, I don't start leveling until after getting Ragnarok, because without certain junction abilities...
