nope there all good to use and wont affect your trophy unlocking. I didnt find them that useful anyway. But you later actually have to use a fragment skill for paradox endings. so they actually help for trophies.

actually throughout the game. I go through my monsters list now and my flan is the only one. Flan and that cat are all ive seen people use so maybe there the only ones. added about closing gates on my first post as well.

i cant help on the chocobos but i actually got my medic that i used throughout the entire game where you are. Its a Flan that has like a siren always going off, i forgot what its real name is, but its green. its a fairly good medic, low hp for me though, but got the job done. Oh and its fanatic...
