It's kind of hard to pick really but...
Zidane (FFIX): I like him cos he kicks ass... jokes :) The real reason I like him is because he's my favourite protagonist in the whole series. He's an upbeat dude living in some grim times and he has an enthusiasm and spirit that inspires those around...
Well it's always been true that Square have never made two FF games that are the exactly same in terms gameplay, so I think it hard to really define the 'old style'. They've always tweaked and added fresh new parts to the standard Turn-based style they got comfortable with back with the original...
What is the name of the music that plays when...

... you are fighting Sinspawn Gui at Mushroom Rock for the second time with Seymour in your party? Its really catchy but I haven't been able to find it anywhere mostly as I don't know the title of it :) It may appear later in...
I used to rename all my characters in all games when I was younger but I don't have the patience to come up with any good ones so I just leave them nowadays :) However on my first play through I did rename Ixion to Ramuh as a monument to the old lightning summon but when it kept saying Ramuh...
EDIt: urgh i need to go back to bed :) didnt notice this had already been posted in a much more condensed manner above
Interceptor does have two different attacks I think based on how much health Shadows has though I'm not sure whether one is a desperation attack or not.
There's 'Wild Fang'...
Definitely Spira from FFX for me that place is just beautiful. Well except for the giant whale god causing a ruckus every now and then, but I could always move away from the sea and hang out in the woods with the guado :)
I'm somewhere in the middle of love and hate with this game. Its a good game by all means just not one of my favouites.
Gameplay was good but the Junctioning system was a little tedious sometimes, got boring using 'Draw' so often. Plus the spell Aura and Limit Break nuking took a bit of the...
hehe funnily enough I'm not normally a fan of comical RPG's either and this certainly is one, yet I don't know why but this game really caught me. Perhaps I was taking my RPG's a little too seriously and this was just a nice way of playing a game directly aiming for fun and silliness... and even...
Recently just played through this for the third time and I'm just curious to see what other FF fans make of it?
It is very much an old school style RPG just like any other Dragon Quest/ Dragon Warrior game, but in this case given a 3D environment makeover. This game simply takes an old RPG...
He's a bit like Locke with a tail :)
I found him quite a nice change from Squall who kind of bored me tbh. He was pretty level headed too, despite his antics every now and then. So as far as male protagonists go I think he fits in really well to the story and he's one of my favourites from the...
Hello I'm Finchester, a pleasure to meet you all :)
I am a fan of RPG's of all shapes and sizes but the FF series is one I take the most pleasure from. I'm quite an old school gamer really and love to play the old originals from the SNES and NES.
I got into the series with VI which was both...
As much as I'd love to see how good the story can look on the PS3/360 I think the gameplay might loose something of its charm on a console. A DS version would be good if they were to carry on in the style of IV
I don't think it has quite enough popularity for them to consider making the extra effort for a console remake tbh, which is of course a shame cos its a great game. But I don't mind the DS versions I think they did a good job with III and IV.
Spoilers Galore!

FFV: Galuf's final battle with ExDeath, and follwoing death. Heroicly fighting on with 0 HP!
FFVI: Gotta agree with Ricochet, loved the whole Doom Train part it was very powerful at the end. Also, Shadows moment of glory on the Floating Continent.
FFVII: Barret...
EDIT: I took this quote from page 11 thinking it was the last page, Doh! :)
Cliched... I hate to say it but all the games in the series have elements of being cliched, and of them all I felt like XII was one of the least to do so.
In fact this game was brave enough to break away from some of...
Its not my favourite in the series but I still think its a great RPG. But it annoys me that they've made such a franchise out of it with so many spin-offs. I wish they'd just left the original game to to tell it's own story it was a good story with a good ending and I don't understand why they'd...
VI for me. Every aspect of it is wonderful; great storyline, very memorable characters, stunning graphics for the time (and I can still appreciate them as stunning today with my retro eyes lol)... oh, and above all a lot of fun to play :)
It really was a special game, and still is. Helped make...
