If you're interested in playing Final Fantasy XI on your computer, but aren't sure if it can handle the game play, the following link will take you to the official benchmark created by PlayOnline for testing computers for compatibility with Final Fantasy XI.

Final Fantasy XI has just recently begun supporting Vista. As for notebooks, it's works. However, you need a fairly decent notebook to run the game; dedicated video memory is needed.
And yes, you'll want to go to Bastok if you choose Hume as it will give you a ring that gives you several status...
Can an administrator update the counters on threads and forums? >_<; The forums I view were just brutally attacked by spammers and deleting the posts doesn't fix it all.
I will always agree that Square Enix should have called this game Final Fantasy Online. However, the game itself still plays along with the very same ideas as every Final Fantasy before and after it. The only difference is that one os online and one is offline.
Most of the people that I know who play on dial up do not like it. They get kicked off all the time and lag out really bad in populated areas. Otherwise, Final Fantasy XI does have support for it at the very least.
I did it for my friend the other day and to take the Carbuncle's Ruby to every weather in the game can take anywhere from two hours to several days. You'll need access to certain areas and know where the weather is to move efficiently. The ones that are really hard to find are the fire and ice...
They split the blood pacts up so you can have a set of blood pacts for healing and stuff and a set for damage dealing. They also changed the effect of summoning magic skill. If you're wearing equipment that increase your summoning magic skill, and your skill is exceeding the cap, your blood...
Well, a NIN/PLD is completely worthless. A warrior is just a melee job. A paladin is a true tank because they're able to control hate better. Warriors are good for taking hate off the paladin if things go wrong so the paladin can get hate back.
But you're right, anything you'd read in a book or...
When the game first came out, all there was was Warrior and Paladin for tanking. Paladin was the true tank for parties, and warrior was a melee job that could also be used for tanking if needed. Warrior was more focused on levels up through 30 or so; paladin can be obtained at level 30. Paladins...
If s/he has invisible status on, you won't be able to find him/her in the PlayOnline friend search thinger to be able to add him/her to your friends list. The only way to be able to locate them would be to contact them outside of Final Fantasy XI somehow, or install Final Fantasy XI and search...
I don't think people will ever understand the advantages of paying to play online. You will never come across a game in which the company wants to spend more money than they make back. That'd be the dumbest thing any developer could do to themselves..
In the case of Final Fantasy XI, they...
Real online gamers actually understand the pay online additions. Most people who play Final Fantasy XI that I know do not play any other games. This means that they do not buy any other games. That means that they're saving a lot of money.
In four months of playing Final Fantasy XI you would...
It all depends on the job and where you're at. However, after level 20 or so it's a lot better for a party to have six different jobs. One instance of a job can generally cover everything they'd need to do. The only two times I'd ever want more than one of a job in a party is if I could get two...
Carbuncle kiting is used to fight monsters that you either don't want to kill too fast, or that will take forever to kill and you wouldn't be able to handle fighting them with another avatar. When you're using Carbuncle at higher levels, you're able to have him out without using MP aside from...
