V was a bit tedious at the start and the characters seemed very static. However eventually it picks up and the characters develop well. One of the things that kind of annoyed me is that you have to do a lot of experience grinding in the early parts of the game because the game scales rather...
^I agree, I do think Golbez would look somewhat like , but there definitely will be differences.
Also when Cecil was first wearing armor I imagined him to look differently to when I saw him in his paladin form. The thing is, when someone is covered in armor fully, maybe it's for the best to...
Oh God, the confusion would be immense.
Correct me if I am wrong but XI and XIV are both MMORPGs, right? So how confusing would it be that the only two MMORPG FF games actually get confused with title-wise.
Also what about Advent Children? Would that become FFIV: Advent Children? Or would...
^IV definitely has some of the best characters in FF universe for me. But I felt as though the story was a bit too basic compared to latter FF games (though I understand that it was the first FF game or in fact an RPG to have a complex plot).
The only FF game I completed more than once is FFVII and it was only 2-3 times. My average playthrough on FFVII is between 45-60 hours.
With the others I've done so far this is how long their playthroughs took me (only once each game):
FFIV ~ 24 hours
FFV ~33 hours
FFVI ~ 33 hours
FFIX ~ 45-50...
Hah. A good effort I must admit (the fighting, not the music that is), but yeah, they should've asked permission. And the music sounds like its base tune was stolen from Beethoven.
I too played only through disc 1 of FFVIII, so can't give much opinion on those. But with VII and IX I really like both of theirs ends of disc 1. Both end on a note where villains are one up on the heroes if you see what I mean and so it emotionally forces you to want to play further and to see...
Favourite Character: Cecil
Favourite Male Character: Cecil
Favourite Female Character: Rosa
Favourite NPC character: Golbez and Rubicante
Favourite Weapon: The Hand of God (for Yang) perhaps or maybe the Ice-element weapons (they have a cool look during slashing)
Favourite Magic: Bio (never...
I might be a generic knight/swordsman of some kind, or perhaps a ninja or even a martial artist/monk. Although magic is nice and I am a big fan of fire magic, but I always love the fighting up close and personal.
A fun read, I agree. The part that cracked me up the most was when they had a picture of Cid from FF6 and the caption said "You probably shouldn't go home with this man".
Odin is generally my favourite one too. He's got style and I always loved the cool mysterious knightly figures on horses. Though I do like some others too, like Ifrit. He is cool in every FF game I've seen him in so far. I am yet to play every FF game, FFX included which I am playing at the...
I take it these are huge outworldly creatures. I know Sin is from FFX and Ultimecia from FVIII, but not sure which one Yiazmat is from (probably from one of the newer FF games since I haven't played those), but I think Jenova from FFVII could fit into this battle too.
To add to Bambi's post, here are covers of IV and V:
FFIV, shows Golbez, which I think fits in well:

FFV, shows a wind drake I think, which I suppose is not so bad either:

I liked the beginning two missions too, but I agree that it can get boring after a while. Also just like Dishy said, infiltrating ShinRa HQ the first time was one of the most fun parts of the game. I mean when I did it the first I couldn't believe that so early in the game the heroes were going...
I see most of these moments happen with you guys when you forget to save for ages. I usually am paranoid and always have that feeling on the back of my head after I've done a fair bit that I must save, and hence whenever I come across ANY save point I save, especially on the first playthrough...
Hey everyone. Just thought I'd start a topic on SirRonLionheart's Final Fantasy Let's Plays. If you don't know, SirRonLionheart does a lot of funny LPs on many retro games, and he's done one on FFIV (and started one on FFVIII too). His LPs are not only informative, but also incredibly funny. He...
One scene in FFIV annoyed me. It ruined the character development and any kind of chemistry. It's the sexist scene inside the Lunar whale before the party sets off to the Moon for the final confrontation and the male members tell the female members that it's too dangerous for them to go there...
