FFXIII, of course! I haven't even gotten to the good part yet I'm still loving it. Beats the hell out of XII, although I don't know where it ranks with the others that I've played.
I might play a little LittleBigPlanet with my brother as well.
Oh... nice. Would've never noticed.
I'm interested in the game, but I'm simply not willing to pay the subscription fee that will almost definitely be there. Oh well.
As far as developing the party goes, most of your choices come down to which role to spend CP on for each character. You should be more worried about trying to figure our what paradigms work when.
Speaking of developing, I leveled up my first two roles this morning. I was happy.
There was some article on a website about FFXIII, and FFV actually came up the most as the favorite game of the series in the comments. Not FFIV, VI, or VII, but V!
I found this interesting. Maybe gameplay matters more to FF fans than people care to think?
It's great, because this Final Fantasy is a very trial-and-error sort of thing, especially if you don't know what you're facing. You'll almost always know what you did wrong, and know how to fix it.
At least for me.
I got the buff/debuff roles (can't remember names), and I was so confused as to why I couldn't get anyone to stagger. Then I used the debuff role, and cheered as I watched Sazh stagger the thing in five seconds flat.
Figuring these things out are what make this game great so far.
Holy crap. I don't know about you guys, but when the paradigms and crystallium were introduced, the gameplay just TOOK OFF. It's so much fun now, it's not even funny. I'm actually constantly on my toes, which is the first for the Final Fantasy series.
The boss in the middle of Chapter three...
The game so far is really good. I just got introduced to the Paradigms and Crystallis, so I'd imagine the game is about the become flat out incredible.
The story so far is actually interesting as well. Sazh is awesome, because he's very multi-dimensional, which is unexpected.
The Zodiac Spear was just stupid though. There was no way anyone could possibly figure that one out without a walkthrough. Squeenix would be stupid to do that, which they will probably do anyway.
What I'm probably going to end up doing is doing one run through the story, and then a second one...
1 hour and 41 minutes until the official release in EST, although I probably won't get a chance to play it until late tomorrow.
I am really hyped, even though I really tried not to be.
People will be especially cautious with XIII spoilers though because they know that not as many people have beaten the game. Meanwhile, with games like VII and VIII, which are over 10 years old, spoilers are all over the place because it's almost expected that you have beaten the game by now...
I wouldn't say easier, I would say more fun. For example, FFI is crazy boring BECAUSE of all the grinding necessary to get anywhere in that game. I'd much rather have the game be more difficult in gameplay rather than in needing to grind to beat a boss.
Besides, FFXIII is supposedly quite...
Just thought I'd point out that a 5/10 seems harsh when you read the review. The reviewer's complaint is certainly a major one, but it's not enough to take half of the score off. Especially since that one complaint may actually be good for some people.
I guess we just have to take it for...
