The new wave of gamers that came along like, 2006 or so, have more or less been spoiled by the industry itself. During the PS2 era and so, developers mostly prioritised game mechanics over graphics because of limited memory. When gaming became more popular and mainstream, coupled with the...
I can see where you're coming from. The combat is still far from perfect. I would rank the un-patched combat at like 4/10 or something, while the new one is more like a 6/10 or 7/10 at best. And yeah, I have definately played way better action rpgs than this as well. It still needs way more...
A bit of a continuation to my previous post. So I tried the updated demo out and I have to say; They managed to make the combat actually enjoyable. The camera is further away during battles and lock-on works a bit better now. You now have more combat actions available as well. You now have a...
I finished Resident Evil Revelations 2 last, and I've been replaying it on the harder difficulties. It was a suprising return to form on Capcom's part, and the game actually feels like a horror title. The game is pretty fun, and it has alot of unlockables and other nice extras.
I've been going through the Resident Evil series lately. The release of Revelations 2 revitalized my interest in playing them. I own almost all the main titles so I've been pretty occupied by them. :)

I'd describe my anger as being "cold". I used to explode pretty easily when I was still a teen and in highschool I calmed down alot, and nowadays it takes alot to make me angry. My actions when angry are of the "treat others like they've treated me" kind. If people are rude, I'll be rude...
I hope I'm not growing out of them. Outside of games, I don't really have any other pastime. I don't have friends or that many interests to begin with, so I'd be left pretty bored.
Maybe I'm just going through a phase, or I just need to be patient and wait for that one thing that rejuvenates my...
This feeling of disappointment has been haunting me for a few years now. I'm finding it more and more difficult to get excited for new game titles nowadays, and what few have seemed interesting have always left me unimpressed or worse, disappointed. In the past I could get exited for games, and...
Mood: Apathetic
A bit confusing propably. Lately I've constantly been plagued by a lack of interest in anything. Hobbies and such no longer satisfy me like they used to, and a lot of things that I have been looking forward to have ended in severe disappointment. I'm more or less scared of...
I also found the enemies to be frustrating to fight. The sabertusks pose no real threat, but they have much more HP than they should, and also they don't stagger which leads to them dodging all your attacks constantly. Nothing like playing cat and mouse against oversized vermin. And the big...
So I played the demo for XV and was left... less than impressed. At first I was impressed by the visuals, and the nice view on the horizon. Then the combat tutorial started and I was underwhelmed. They claimed the combat system would be like a more grounded version of Kingdom Hearts, but...
An Alien/FFVII crossover huh? Yeah I'd be interested in that.
As for a remake of VII. I think a good way of doing it would be to maintain the bird's eye view and have the majority of conversations take place in a more visual novel kind of style, with detailed character portraits. There is...
This is just my opinion and stuff, but I think a FFVII remake could work even with the old camera angles and stuff. I mean FFVII has ALOT of dialogue, and if every bit of it was turned into cutscenes the game would feel too much like a film. The majority of dialogue could be handled in the...
Wow I had almost forgotten about Sunken Gelnika, even though it's one of the more interesting optional areas in my opinion. And you are absolutely right about Ragnarok in VIII, which was a pretty interesting moment despite it's gimmicky nature. The Lunar Cry sequence in VIII could also be...
Wow, there is alot of hate threads here. I thought that game specific threads were supposed to be for fans of the title to gather and share their enthusiasm for it. Yet almost all threads are like: "I hated this game", FFXII ruined Final Fantasy" or "this game is crap". Way to abuse the the...
So the Final Fantasy series has been arround for quite some time, so with plenty of titles to choose from let's say which game in the series do you think has the best overral monster designs. This is a purely aesthethic look.
I personally think Final Fantasy X has the most impressive desings...
By horror themes I of course mean tropes typically associated with horror, not that the game is trying to scare players. So scare factor is irrelevant here, only the themes matter. Let's get started.
So looking back on Final Fantasy VII, you can notice it uses a bunch of horror tropes. The cave...
The series overral has great soundtracks, but IX holds a special place in my heart. There's too many songs to list, but there is one scene where the events and music go so well together that it's nothing short of perfection. Three words: You're not Alone.
I enjoyed the story of VII quite alot. The overral atmosphere was very dark when the story progressed, and the part where you wander the blood stained halls of the Shinra-HQ is where the game really kicks off for me. I also like how Jenova isn't a demon or a god, but rather an eldritch...
Was a tough choice between II and XIII. XIII infuriated me throughout the whole campaing, but at least I finished it. II on the other hand was so unbearable that I just stopped. It was mostly the dreadful levelling system that did it though, so maybe my oppinion is more mechanic-based than full...
