I would be interested in playing as Rufus Shinra, assuming peopel are taking AC as meaning he IS alive. If so I'd probably play him sort of neutral and then make a more definite decision as to which side he will join after seeing more of the plot, especially after the farce he got himself into...

I like the sound of a sandbox type RP as mentioned above, which might involve you thinking up mission goals and then telling a story depending on what we do and how we react? Also would be good to know if canon characters are available, because if not I would need to start writing!

Yeah VIII is my favourite, or at least a joint top with IX. I must say I agree about it being overshadowed by VII, yet as Ii like VII too it's not such a problem for me. I do however see your point, as most people will rave about VII, and have either not played VIII and assumed it doesn't live...
