Not yet, but when you reach your first almost impossible creatures, it reminds you that some enemies maybe to too hard to take down and is impossible too. So, you should exit the battle immediately.

The need for food. It would be easier if you never needed to eat it, so then you wouldn't put on the pounds - and you can save them.

I use them if there is something that may be difficult for me to defeat and may face death. I find Odin most helpful in Chapter 9, but Brynhildr can be useful in struggles.
