...If the UMD behaves like any other disc, it can't be overwritten without specific hardware. DLC has been going on with PSP stuff for a while now - it doesn't overwrite stuff on the UMD per se, it just supercedes the programming in some areas (menu selection, game options etc.) You...
I get the feeling that this is going to be a lot bigger than it initially comes out as, since the producers have said that they aren't interested in doing another Dissidia as a fighting game. I'd expect several more characters to come in as DLC in the near future, either as Aerith-style assist...
Only if you want Aerith in English.
See, the way I understand it (please, if I am wrong feel free to jump in and correct me), the games are not region-locked like previous systems, but the DLC is region-specific, meaning you can play a game from, say, Italy on a US PSP without ramifications...
So Lightning in Duodecim is equal to Cable in MvC2? Purposely above-average because... well, because she is?
That kinda sucks, but no doubt she has weaknesses. Anybody noticed any - I'm kinda waiting for Prologus to come out before I try and analyze attack patterns.
EDIT: Just checked and yes...
Incidentally, our PSN updates on Thursday, which happens in roughly... ooh, 12 hours from time of posting?
Yeah, I'm keepin' mah fingers crossed as well. C'mon, prologus!
EDIT: Well, we've got an update on the download list, and Prologus isn't on it as of 11:14 PM (7:14 AM CST). There might be...
I've been saying it for a little while now, but I believe Prishe is a designer favourite. She's a Jerk Sue with major socialization issues, everybody in the game is so eager to help her out and she never seems to cop any responsibility for slagging off at everyone and anyone.
As for Sabin being...
I'm not so sure about Garnet now that we have Yuna in the game, but I'd love to see the brothers Figaro in the game - Edgar using physicals and long-range attacks, while Sabin sticks to the opponent like glue.
Yeah, it'd be awesome.
What makes Gilgamesh unique is that several hints are dropped that it is the same person who is in each game, unlike the Cids who are different. In the Japanese FF8, for instance, his introduction has him referencing Bartz, the hero of FF5. Similarly, in other FFs he is described as a warrior...
Aaaaand boom goes the dynamite.
Mods win. Fatality.
As for the new screenshot of Gil, I'm not so sure. I think we might be being taken for a ride - the formatting of it into a PSP screen is needlessly flashy, particularly as there is no move name to be seen, the screen itself shows precious...
Well now, haven't we just stumbled upon a nice little cache of potential. I've already given a bit of thought to how a few FF6 characters would go down and I think it's not only feasable, it'd be fun most of the time.
Relm is probably the easiest to plan - go the Bartz route, but mirrored...
Wanna hear something pathetic here? Y'know how there's a Japanese Duodecim site, a NA Duodecim site etc? Well, I just checked into the European Duodecim site to see what's going down there.
The only thing they've got there is the TGS trailer. That's it - no new character details, no DLC...
Y'know, from a gameplay perspective, it's kinda weird to have Squall assist Laguna in EX mode - really, the power that Laguna gets is from the latent combat effectiveness of Squall guiding his hand. Having Squall show up is a bit...
Although, the entire game operates under the MST3K Mantra, so...
!!!CAUTION! THIS POST CONTAINS STRONG OPINIONS THAT MAY DIFFER FROM YOURS! THESE OPINIONS MAY CAUSE OFFENSE!!!
...Why? Why Faris and Celes? What do they have to bring to this fight that hasn't already been brought?
I'm getting a little cheesed off at everybody whining about Faris and Celes not...
Well, I know it's a couple of days late (curse work and their ability to expect me to work at any time!), but if you wanted to give Ad-Hoc Party a shot, I'd be willing to go for a ride. I'll make a room for battle named Dissidia and if you wish, you can join me for some good-natured fun.
If anybody's up for a challenge, I'm willing to give anybody a shot on AdHoc Party. Be aware that I only have level 100 characters, so...
I generally main Gabranth, CoD and Terra, if you're interested. I'll be on around 6:00 PM onwards.
Though I feel as if I'm playing the goat here... How would Faris be different than Bartz? I'm truly interested to know. All I got is a job-switching mechanic, and that's a little feeble at best.
If we're saying who's going to go into our hope spots from here on out, here're my predictions...
