I'm going to second that World of Ruin would be worse. In Spira, Sin is a random thing, a force of nature, sort of, like a hurricane. Kefka was actively out to get people and make them miserable. Plus, yeah, Spira had the hope of a Calm for a few years, at least.

Generally I want to say that teens have always been like this, ie, stupid. And a lot of the problem is that the only people they hang out with other teens, where being stupid makes you cool. Mostly people learn to be human beings, even if they only learn that they can't get away with it any more...
