    Terry Pratchett set to die

This is a somewhat misleading thread title, it implies Pratchett is going to die any day now! Hopefully that day is a long way off yet.

Happy birthday Rydia, hope you enjoy it :)

    Bridesmaids

Couldn't disagree more, I really enjoyed it. It's nothing majorly game-changing but it has characters I could actually sympathise with, an actually believeable friendship between Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph's characters (contrast with the dreadful Sex and the City movies) and Jon Hamm sending...

    Tori Amos

I recently bought her first two albums - Little Earthquakes and Under the Pink, and really liked both. Can't believe it took me this long to listen to her stuff. Might pick up Boys for Pele and From the Choirgirl Hotel at some point, as I've heard those are both good too.

the stone roses reunite at last

I really hope The Smiths never reform.

the stone roses reunite at last

Hopefully?! I can't see much point in this reunion, especially considering they managed only one very good album and a rather acrimonious breakup the first time round. The idea of a new record...well I really can't see it being like when Portishead came back that's for sure.

The Avengers 2012 - Movie discussion

Nice trailer. I'm always prepared to give something involving Joss Whedon a chance, so looking forward to this.

    Doctor Who

Article be damned, I liked the last episode.

    The Thing 2011 [Trailer]

Strictly it's a prequel rather than a remake just to say. I get the feeling this will just be another forgettable horror movie that won't live up to John Carpenter's predecessor though.

    Doctor Who

So did anyone see that coming at the end? I didn't but I guess it should have beenobvious in retrospect. I quite liked how simple it was and how it was revealed, though I imagine some will find it a bit of a copout. Moffat really playing the long game here, mapping out the probable end of the...

    Doctor Who

The Cybermen stuff seemed rather weak there, I was enjoying seeing Matt Smith and James Corden (who has been much better in this show in his two episodes than I feared he might be) bounce off one another and the main plot was getting in the way of that. One of the weaker episodes in this series...

    Final Fantasy X HD Discussion

Newsflash - its story was complete over a decade ago. Now move on.

    Doctor Who

Well we don't have the BBC America preview caption for that episode to hand, so maybe they were.

    Doctor Who

They might just appear in flashbacks to previous episodes I guess.

    Final Fantasy X HD Discussion

Wakka's voice was one of the best in the game! Plus the VA is Bender in Futurama so he's generally great.

    Doctor Who

Double post (sorry!) I thought last night's episode was quite sweet, just focusing on the three main characters worked very well.

    Which game should I play?

I'd play FFVI next, mainly as it's the best out of that lot. Plus it's very accessible.

    What are you currently reading?

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline Set in a dystopian future where most people live their lives in a huge virtual world, this is a wonderfully geeky book, packed with references and in-jokes to 80s pop culture. I'm really enjoying the sheer enthusiasm of it.
