Well, I just think that without the early FFs, FF will never be the same way as it is today.
I agree that 3 was VERY difficult (just finished it on the NES, it's impossible so far in the DS), FF1 I can deal with (and all those flaws in the NES version are forgivable due to HW limitations; but...
Actually, money WAS a problem when I started out at the Floating Continent, well, probably because of my job selection. There are instances wherein you need mages (e.g. Tunnel to Viking Cove and Nepto Temple) so I need to give spells to everybody. So far I had:

How about playing FFV the same way you would play FF1? I mean, just sticking to the first job classes given to you in the game. You just have to pick the job classes you want, then sticking to them the entire game, switching jobs only to accommodate FF1's class change system.
