I most certainly wouldn't mind seeing a prequel and sequel remake thingy to this game! It would be just perfect for a dual PSP/Vita and NDS/3DS release. But I know it'll never happen. :(
Simply put, this game is an absolute must have for any fan of FFVII or just good games in general. One thing to note however. Please, PLEASE go into the game with an open mind, because I've seen soooooooooo~ many people harp on the game because it has a different battle style than what they're...
Well thought out post! Although I can't stand Genisis at all and constantly wish he was never created *cringe* I don't think he was all that terrible a person. So toward the end when he survived, I was equal parts upset and relieved.
So many feels that game gave me. >_<
HOW CAN YOU NOT REMEMBER MAGES HUGES'S NAME? BLASHPHAMEY!! It's okay, I don't mind at all, I think it's cool that you at least tried. ^^ Poor little Nina :(
I'd be one of those that likes both ^^ That being said, I do back up this post and recommend XII over X for the simple fact that it was gutsy enough to try something different. The gambit system is basically the same as the menu > magic > bolt 2 set up, except that you have more control over...
FFIX's Gaia, easily wins this imo. The atmosphere and medieval setting seems so otherworldly (bad pun! Dx) and captivating to me! Plus seeing all the various races and wonderful scenery (Limblum anyone?) would be something to steal my breath away~
The only titles I haven't played *in depth* are the two MMOs XI and XIV. It's because I don't really like those types of games. :( Although I do own them!
While I do agree with everything you said in your rant, I disagree about one thing. Final Fantasy isn't over. As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure Versus will be the best in the series, so diehard fans (but not blind lol XIII and XIII-2 were less than garbage) like me are still hopeful!
I was only 6 years old when I played my first FF. It was actually FFVI and I got it as a bday gift along with a Super Nintendo! ^-^ Oh the hours I spent trying (and dying!) to complete that game. Haha, I remember my best friend would actually prefer to watch me play it instead of trying it...
I wholeheartedly agree with this post. One thing I'd like to add however, is that they need to reshift their marketing model back to the PSX era with less production time and more focus on quality. I remember reading somewhere (don't quote me on this) that that's exactly what they're doing...
