I wasn't surprised since I knew that they where lived though. That bit about the missile base blowing was only one of the few bits of the story I actually liked, most of the other stuff being Laguna's flashback bits and the parts with Seifer.

I'd say yes its worth getting FFIV since it introduced a lotta staples to the series like a love story, plot twists and fleshed out characters for the first time to FF.
