IMO you should buy ff10, because it's the longest, it has the best gameplay and it is by far the most customisable, which makes it the most tactical. Or if you enjoy the classic rpgs you should buy ff9 or dragon quest.

If you don't screw up and are conveniently prepared for the battles they're all pretty easy and none of them is to tactical. The hardest is of course Nemesis, because it's a long battle and he has 10,000,000hp, but he isn't that hard.... ;)
