Hopes:
- Higher difficulty (seriously I love FF7 but there was almost no challenge to the game whatsoever)
- A nice open world to explore, maybe with more locations than the original
- A better ending than the original
- The ability to switch between characters on the fly
Fears:
- Extreme...
Pretty much everything this guy said. I'm by no means a fan of XIII but I don't understand why it's considered the worst FF in the series while Crisis Core, which shared many of the same flaws, receives more praise than the PS1 game it's based on.
I was 11. It was also the first PS2 game I got along with Spongebob Squarepants Revenge of the Flying Dutchman, which unsurprisingly didn't have as much lasting appeal.
Thanks but no thanks. Every FF7-themed spinoff so far has been nothing short of atrocious (yes that includes Crisis Core, come at me) and rather than making awful sequels/prequels/spinoffs I'd rather they continue making awesome original games.
That being said I'm still looking forward to how...
This will probably label me as a heretic but I really don't see what's so great about this game. I'll admit that I didn't get very far in the game (only 13 hours) so you make take my opinion with a grain of salt, but nothing about this game held my interest enough to want to continue playing it...
It was the fourth FF I played but is my second favourite after VII. I know I'm in the minority here but Tidus is my favourite character in the series. The only thing I didn't love about the game was the linearity (which it gives XIII a run for its money) and lack of an option to skip through the...
Really? I was under the impression that IX was considered one of the best games in the series if not the best.
Anyway I liked that it didn't take itself so seriously and had a fun story and characters, but the gameplay was so terribly slow (and not at all helped by the extremely high encounter...
I hated it back when I first played it, but I've since warmed up to it over the past few years. I still don't really like the battle system or the characters though, except for Squall who was the only one I could relate to on any level, and even then I couldn't care less about his backstory...
Love it, easily my favourite of the series. Everything about it resonated so well with me. Well except for Sephiroth, who I didn't think was that great of a villain.
I can understand why that had to dial back Barret's borderline-stereotypical ebonics speech, but why did they need to give him sunglasses in a city with no sunlight?
