Crisis Core is an absolute dogshit game and I have no idea how anyone can consider it good at all, let alone better than FF7 itself. If it were just the gameplay that was bad I wouldn't mind as much, I could deal with the braindead, sluggish, one-button combat, or the uninspired level design, or...

Seems a bit pointless to have a cover mechanic for a DMC-style beat-em-up action game but whatever. My main concerns are also the story and memorable scenes being altered.

Just started Xenogears today. So far it's alright, pretty cool battle system but also very cutscene heavy.

Probably not. Couldn't care less about some no-name turks who never even appeared in the original story. In fact they never appeared in anything else besides the Last Order OVA. Also both the FF7 spinoffs I have played were both terrible, and so was the movie, and doubt BC will be any better so...
