The Trials were a must needed aspect really. RPG's generally have some sort of puzzle scheme in the game. I personally love them, and the added treasures are a reward for doing the entire puzzle.
Also, the Trials play a large factor in the storyline, as that's how Summoners acquire their Aeons...
^^ Yea, I was always slightly irritated by that stupid little animation. As if a message on screen, and then the ability appearing in the menu on that characters next turn wasn't enough reminder that you learned the ability.
When I play VI (never beat btw, I know...) and I get to Lockes' town...
1st playthrough: I was on the edge of tears. I was around 12 years old and had Aerith in my party the whole game.
2nd: A couple years later I still had the "MOTHER FUCKER" reaction.
3rd: A couple more years later I was pretty numb to it, and had a more Mwahhahahahhaah! type of reaction.
It's...
Of course the websites listed above will help you understand it well, but for me playing it more helped me a lot.
The first time I played it I understood Tidus' role in the story, but each time I replayed it I began to understand a little more depth into Tidus. I also began to appreciate the...
Almost every one of the multiple choice answers reflect on the relationship levels between Tidus and the others. That comes into affect during certain scenes like or .
So while the choices don't affect gameplay elements or where you go in the story, they do affect cosmetic stuff in the game...
I thought you had to use one of the swords by equipping it and stepping onto a platform, but it may not be a sword. It was the place right after you first visit Mt. Bur-Omisace that I was thinking of.
(But that cutscene with Ashe is awesome)
They are weak because you get the both pretty early in the game if I remember, at least one of them anyway. They're also mostly for the looks (imo).
Also, I think you did actually have to hold the item in hand to use it when you needed too, which gave you the feeling you were wielding true...
I'll be honest, there's a harder difficulty? I've played through the game about 6 times or so, playing blitzball everytime, and have never noticed an option for being harder.
You need defense?
I always just shoot with Tidus from midfield, and then have Tidus and the center (I forget his name) tag team the carrier, who usually heads right into Tidus anyway.
The ball rarely gets passed midfield for them, but I do have Ropp and....someone? (I think an Auroch) on...
I'll add the O'aka from X-2. His voice was bearable in X (for me anyway), but in X-2, they either changed voice actors for the worst, or the previous voice actor had a horrendous actor.
Either way, I'd like to have fought him and get all my damn Gil back, but I'd have more fun taking out the...
Tidus - It's mainly just the voice, but also the complete and utter cluelessness in Spira, and then he suddenly 'gets it' after Mi'hen Highroad. Hated his development, but he was beast on the battlefield. Would've been a pleasure beating the crap out of him.
More to come!
^^ That link basically says that someone close to the summoner sacrifices themself to transform into the Final Aeon for that summoner.
The process takes both the summoner and the sacrificed lives, and it's usually a guardian or a lover (aka someone with a personal bond) that transforms with...
I completely whiffed on the fact that the dream Zanarkand was in fact, a dream Zanarkand. Grasping straws here, but I always thought the fayth were still tied to the real world, trapped in Aeons and places like the dream Zanarkand. Sort of like being linked to Spira, yet never known, always in...
I think he was trying and trying to become Sin himself, to abuse the power of a godlike figure, that the urge for power eventually consumed him. I don't think his insanity was random, but more of a slow growing issue throughout the game.
I, however, hated him. Such an annoying mini boss with...
