My thought is that since some of the boss battles were ones where the party is actually rather badly beat up they decided to keep things simpler for themselves and left out the EXP for all the bosses and not just the ones that were supposed to leave the party badly injured.

I'm gonna have to agree with everyone that the battle music is pure epicness, but Melodies of Life is my favorite piece of music in almost all the Final Fantasys, only one piece of music tops that and that is Suteki Da Ne.

I have the PSone version (that I borrowed from my best friend) and it plays on my PS2 so I am all happy.
