I have the Chocobo Tales DS. It's pretty amusing, especially the pop-up card battles. Some of the mini-games are maddeningly hard, though. There's still around half a dozen or so that I haven't gold ranked, and I've logged almost 40 hours so far.
Sabin, Edgar, Umaro, and gogo w/ tools, blitzes, and magic.
Sabin and Edgar are simply broken, Umaro is powerful enough that he doesn't NEED to be controlled (and it's fun watching him throw your characters), and gogo can use both edgar and sabin's abilities at about 80% strength.
These characters have the emotional range of a teaspoon because the script is over 10 years old; on the super famicom, characters didn't get the kind of development that characters on the new systems do.
Hey wolfblack - Kefka? He was from FF6. And with the originally-older games, putting it on a new console would have likely dissapointed the buyers because of it's lack of innovation for the TV system, but for the DS it was perfect.
Definitely. Not heavy on story, but it has awesome graphics, intense gameplay, and a good difficulty level. I'd say it's harder than FF5, but easier than 4.
It's pretty funny actually... early on, magic is the most powerful way of attacking, but pretty soon it becomes useless. Physical all the way. (except for a devout. They are the handiest character you'll have.)
