I didn't like 13-2. The ending ruined the game for me. LR was better, I think. I'd love to give Type 0 a go... but I don't have anything it's out on.

FF9 was really good. I felt battles moved really oddly though, kinda slow. The story was downright depressing at times but you could feel the levels of badass radiating from them when they inevitably came up from that. And oddly enough, I didn't mind the final boss out of nowhere.
