ERRRM, IMMA GONNA SAY FF1.
I really can't pick this one. Each of the story's focuses are so different!! Okay, I'll do this for different categories.
>>Character Development:
Tie between VIII and IV.
First off, you already have Cecil as this highly developed character right off the cuff, then...
This is fantastic info - thanks so much!
I still can't say I pity Kefka, but the info about his relationship with Celes is fascinating. I never would have guessed! I wish they'd delved into that more in the game. :(
Kefka. That's my review.
What, I have to write more? Pffffft, fine.
Being a lady who's into these games primarily for story and characters (I could care less about gameplay - if it's fun, rad. If not, whatever; the story is still more important.), this game is perfect. It has so many memorable...
I think there needs to be some clarification on what you mean by "strongest."
If you mean "effectiveness as a lead character," then I'd go with either Zidane or Cecil. For both, you start off with pretty developed characters. It doesn't feel like the beginning of their story like it does with...
Best Soundtrack
I apologize if there has been a thread like this already; I didn't see one in the stickies. Then again, I may be totally blind or something, so if I am, feel free to remove this post, mods. :)
Main topic: Okay, so we all know that FF has some damn fine soundtracks. But which is...
Ah, but see? You are not arguing that VII had a better story and characters, you're arguing that IX was better. I think that could be argued fairly, and from a gameplay perspective I think it could be argued that many of the later Final Fantasies are better than VI.
For the record, I love IX...
I think a lot of people jump to say that XII is the worst with one of the reasons being that "Vaan is whiny and annoying and supposed to be the lead." The important thing to remember about XII is that they took a really different route: The story is actually about three characters, something...
I agree, Kilala. Layle was a rad protagonist.
I wish he'd had a full game and some more conflict, though. Bearers almost felt like a side story or something, not a game in itself.
...and I still sort of like it, if only for nostalgic purposes.
But in all seriousness, the soundtrack is actually not bad, and the story was cute. It was like the toddling little brother of the older and far more serious IV/V/VI.
Did anyone else here get introduced to Final Fantasy through...
I once started a file on 7 in which I named Cloud "Bianca" and Barrett "Fifi", though I cannot for the life of me remember why.
I called Tidus "Shit Face" a lot while playing 10, even though I actually like him now.
I called Balthier "Han" a few times, too.
Cecil was a slew of girl nicknames...
Eh, I'm more a story kind of gal. I get bored with grinding and finding items... only way I'll do that is if there are extra scenes as a prize. Ultimate weapons? Forgeeeeet it.
Favourite Hero: Zidane, hands down. Then, Locke, Basch, and Balthier.
Favourite Villain: Either Kefka or Kuja - they both have that insane thing going for them.
Favourite FF title: In terms of quality and overall greatness, 6. But, I may have to go with 4 or 9 as my favourite-favourite...
