That's a problem with OS's today and perhaps future OS's (by Microsoft, I should say), and one of the reasons why over 50% of people still like Windows XP. The amount of required memory increases to accommodate the same workload. XP is still equal or better than Vista. With this being the case...

What that means is the computer running on Vista has 1gb to run programs besides the operating system while the computer running on Windows 2000 has 1gb and 992mb to run programs...
