The Role-Playing Tournament 2009
This is where the best are chosen and where the weak shall perish. Many fighters have been devastated by the powerful warriors that come to this established event. Last year a winner was not decided but this year, it will be different. Challenger after challenger will fall until the ultimate warrior has been chosen. Will you win this battle? Or fall like the many others before you?
Is this your chance to shine?
Or will it be the cause of your untimely death?
This is where you shall find out.

RULES:
NO GOD-MODDING - This will be STRICTLY reinforced, without exceptions. This is a tournament, the big-time, so there will be relentless judging of in-battle skills.
For those who do not know, God-modding involves controlling your opponent's character or a character under their control without first gaining their permission.
NO POWER-PLAYING - Like God-modding, this will be STRICTLY reinforced, no exceptions. Power-playing is having abilities that are beyond what you state in your bio, or abilities that are over-powered, in so far as they give you an unfair advantage against your opponent. An example of this would be having only half of your energy drained when it should have been three quarters.
ACCEPT DEFEAT OR VICTORY GRACEFULLY - Losing is not decided in the actual match, it is decided by the judges after they have each scored the players out of 10. This means don’t be a sore loser
If you lose don’t grumble about it or complain that the judges were wrong. The Judges decisions are final and that is that. If you win, then great and you’re in the next round. If you lose then you fought valiantly but better luck next time. Losing is not decided in the actual match, it is decided by the judges after they have each scored the players out of 10
CHARACTER ALLOWANCE - The only characters allowed in this Tournament are those approved by an RP Mod, whether they are unoriginal or original. You are welcome to make new bios, but THEY MUST BE APPROVED BEFORE THEY CAN BE USED HERE. Send them to me or Faith via PM for approval if you do not have an RPB Bio already approved.
If you are entering an unoriginal character (such as Cloud or Sephiroth), you must make a bio and have it approved by the RP Mods via PM no matter what. These bios will be graded far more strictly than original bios, since the character you are writing has already been invented, and has set personalities, skills, and often weapons. If you are entering an unoriginal character in the tournament, YOU MUST pay careful attention to remaining in-character.
Those are the rules at the moment. The list is subject to updates by the Staff of Final Fantasy Forums.
PRIZES
A custom signature with an image of your choice with the words “RPB Tournament 2009 Winner” spread across it.
[Unconfirmed] A possible weapon of your choice for the RPG when it has opened.
[Unconfirmed] Lot and lots of reputation points J
At the moment, there are no prizes for second and third places. This is to incite the players to fight their hardest. TAKE HEED THAT if you win with low grades on the two final matches, you will not receive this prize.
JUDGING GUIDELINES
Players will be judged on:
Originality
Creativity
Interaction with Environment
Yieldability*
Readability/Grammar**
Power-playing/God-modding***
* - Yieldability is based on how often you take hits when there are few other options. When you're cornered against a wall, and you miraculously jump up high to dodge the attack, this will lose you points. Anything that relates to not taking a hit when you should will be graded here.
** - Yes, how well you write will be graded. Your post means nothing if we can't understand it, so make sure that you write with the best grammar you have. USE SPELLCHECK GAWDDAMMIT!
*** - Judging for this section is based on how frequently you god-mod or power-play. A high score means that you fought with little to no god-modding or power-playing, while a low score means you frequently broke these rules.
JUDGES
There are still openings in the judging group. IF YOU WISH TO JUDGE, you must provide me with evidence that you understand the rules and requirements for the tournament. This includes posts where you have followed the aforementioned guidelines. As a judge, you are unable to judge your own battle, so as to minimize any issues of bias. If you battle a temporary, unbiased judge shall be implemented so as to avoid unfairness.
BATTLE ASSIGNMENTS
There will be a random lottery of the participants. Each participant will have his or her name written onto a piece of paper, placed into a hat, and randomly drawn. They will be recorded in order of drawing. So, A will battle B, C will battle D, E will battle F, and so on, with each letter representing a random fighter.
ARENAS
The arena for each match will be decided by a random setting generator
Thanks to Hera Ledro who made this last year in the first tournament (And future credit so I don't have to put it in next years or any other
