Overreaction.
I mean seriously, the teacher might of been crazy, but there is no indication here that there's some wider anti-American sentiment at work here. Nowhere near as big of a deal as the whole Cinco de Mayo t-shirt lawsuit. Not sure why we're even bothering debating this, it's blatantly obvious the teacher was in the wrong.
Well, why would the flag be offensive and not Obama? This is just an act of 1 individual, I'm assuming it's not school policy, but that should raise a red flag. I'll leave it at that. The link was from Fox "news" radio, so there's your answer. Blown out of proportion to propagandize how California is made up of USA-hating Communists.
Given that the parents who were outraged by this apparently reached an agreement with the teacher and principal in question and were satisfied, I'd have to say it was indeed one individual and not policy.Well, why would the flag be offensive and not Obama? While I'd rather avoid steering us all wildly offtopic; I must point out two things. As for Fox news, I'll trust them to give me ALL the stories, no matter how moronic they may be. The difference with Fox news is that they don't shy away from giving you news that may make the "president" look bad. MSNBC and CNN seem to falter in this matter in a big way because they want to throw their support behind the "president".

Couldn't have said it better myself, Shu. And you're right.
Least I'm not hanging the Mexican flag upside down in Mexico and putting the American flag above it. That's asking for a whoopin.
Couldn't agree more, man. You're right, and it's sad that you're right, though.
We use to have so many rights and freedoms as a great country. But now, people can't even wear the American flag as a shirt or even draw the flag as a picture.
Princess Bubblegum said:Mind you, that flag made of red, white, and blue, is the representation of everything we, as a country, have fought for for the last 300 years.
The part where we can't fly our flag proudly because it's offensive. That freedom.
That's fairly contradictory isn't it?People like that should be thrown in jail. Thats just my opinion, if you find the American flag offensive than don't live here.
They'll remilitarisation the Rhine next won't they?Okay, you're right. That's why High school boys were taken out of school for wearing t-shirts with the American flag on it. That's why that little girls drawing was deemed "offensive."
It starts small than snowballs to something bigger.
And lead to what?It can always lead to something. Always.
They gave a report on something they thought would titillate their consumers. One individual said it was offense. Who was then called wrong by the headmaster. It's an error of individual judgement. Fox have just hyped it up, into something important.No. Fox gave a report on something they felt was wrong--they might have wanted to twist it to mean something else but the facts in their report are still right. Facts are that kid's picture was called offensive. Or did all of the ebil FoxNews reporters make that all up too?
It was an individual error of judgement. There's no nasty anti-american monolith pulling the strings. It's a non-issue.I'm not manipulated into being angry about this. I was angry about it a few weeks ago when the incident with the High school boys happened. And now, I'm angry about this. And guess what? I'll always be angry when some American tries to prevent an American from wearing the American flag as a shirt or tells a child the American flag is offensive...IN AMERICA!
