It was a simple set up.

Faris - Freelancer
Excalibur
Sasuke's Katana
Genji Helm
Genji Armour
Genji Gloves

Dual-Wield auto-ability
Spell Blade
Rapid Fire

Bartz, Lenna and Krile
All bards with whatever leftover equipment I had. Bartz had "First Strike" and Lenna had "Equip Katana" for the Masamune.
Here's roughly how it went:

Lenna - First attack - Sing, Romeo's Ballad
Omega Stopped
Bartz - Romeo's Ballad
Omega still Stopped
Faris - SpellBlade, Thundaga
Omega - Atomic Ray, not stopped
Krile - Romeo's Ballad
Omega - Stopped again
Lenna - Romeo's Ballad
Omega - Stopped
Bartz - Romeo's Ballad
Omega - Stopped
Faris - Rapid Fire
Omega - Dead.


Did anyone else find this fight so easy?
 
Was it, really that easy? I still havn't beat it. Him and that dragon Shinryu. I'm level 55 but nothing I do seems to work. Maybe I should try what you did.
 
I was level 49 or so when I did this. It's a simple set-up, and it works really well.

I'm guning for Shinryuu now, I'll let people know how it goes.

Just beaten Shinryuu too. These 'superbosses' aren't that tough, really.

Faris, same set-up as earlier.

Krile: Mime
White Magic
Summon
Combine

Bartz: Freelancer
Jump
Dual-wield
Partisan and Masamune (No Dragon Lances :()

Lenna: Mime
Black Magic
Time Magic
Blue Magic

Everyone has coral rings equipped.
Faris used Flare Sword (20 thousand damage a turn =D)
Bartz used Jump (5000 damage a turn)
Lenna used Flare or Meteor (Not much damage a turn! =o)
Krile healed and used Dispel a lot (No damage a turn! o_O)

Five minutes, and it was dead.

Congrats on the win. I've beat the game but haven't given Omega a shot yet. Maybe when I go back and try to level up some more.
 
Yea, that's no kidding. What level were you? I've gone up against it once (without that elaborate of a setup) and totally got my ass handed to me. I didn't exactly spend a lot of time leveling though.

I've killed those eight Omega =D

As far as I know, Omega Mark 2 is the same, just with more HP and he can switch his weakness, so I'll be using Flare Sword and curing more with !DualCast and Mime.


NeoShinryuu, on the other hand, decimated my team in about 5 seconds.... blaghhh

I'm guessing you used the DS version? quick question...in the DS version, does the bare job (the one that earns no abp) have three slots for you to fill? cuz in the anthology version, there's only two empty slots. the other two are !fight and !item.

needless to say, in order to win this fight, you've got to have a dual wielding, sword equipped character with the !Sshot ability...or i guess it's called rapid fire in your version? oh and you also need the !Sword ability to charge your weapons with bolt3 or thundaga magic, right? that's wayyy to many abilities. the mime character can equip 3 abilities, but can't equip swords. and like i said, the bare class can only equip 2 abilities. i suppose i could change the character to a sorcerer...that way the !Sword ability is innate...but then i can only equip one more ability...aarrggghhh

or i could just not equip !Sshot and take one extra set of turns. hope he doesn't kill me in that time.

In m life of FFV strategies that is the MOST Boring strategy I hhave ever readed, seriously, it gave me reasons to sleep.
 
yeah the only time I ever tried facing Omega I got my faced smeared all over the TV screen after he had his way with me. I'm like, "Hey, cool little robot toy that walks around funny." Then 4 seconds later I see "Game Over".

I needed leveling up before I go to anther BBQ party with Omega...
