Anyone know how to make a thief useful?

Turn him into a ninja. use armor, shields, and knight swords, along with very useful black magic, dedicate it to debuffs and power amps. Low MP on for the first 30 or so levels, but enough to hold it until you get to a boss fight and unleash maximum hurt.

There is actually a cheat to make him stronger! In the beginning when it asks you to choose your class. Highlight Thief and then scroll until it lands on Warrior or Monk!
