Mass Effect 3 ported to the WiiU

The dilemma being the other Mass Effect games aren't scheduled to be on the system yet.

There are rumors that Mass Effect 1 will be showing up on the PS3 at some point but those haven't been confirmed.

If the Mass Effect games end up on other consoles other than the X-Box that will help Bioware's botoom line although the fans don't seem to like the third game very much.
Some say it's a failure like Dragon Age 2. They blame EA.

Rather sad such a good company has fallen so far.

Dragon Age 3, which btw wasn't mentioned at E3 may be Bioware's last chance to turn things around or heads might very well roll at Bioware.

got to admit, Bioware has sucked ever since they let EA start having their games, it a shame that EA has ruined yet another great gaming company just soo they can get a few more quid in their topic

i think that it good that Mass Effect 3 us getting a Wii U version, as it will bring in the hardcore gamers, but to get sales, I think it might have to be a launch title of some kind

Highly, highly doubt that Mass Effect 1 will get ported to anything. Microsoft holds some rights to that game, and there's no way they're going to let it get put on a competing platform. Besides, Mass Effect 1 was incredibly glitchy...I can't imagine Bioware/EA want to revisit it long enough to correct the bugs so that it can be ported even if the rights issues get dealt with. Would be nice for ME2 to make it to the WiiU though, if 3 will. 3 has the best game system of the trilogy, but 2 has the best story and is just the best overall package by far.

I don't see the point in porting ME3 to WiiU if ME2 isn't at least out for it. Who would play just the last game in the trilogy? And, yeah. ME1 won't be on anything but the PC and 360. I doubt Microsoft will say otherwise.

Let me set this straight and clear, Mass Effect 1 will never come to PS3...but it only will if Microsoft see fit. The game when its being played clearly states its published by Microsoft Game Studios which means they hold the rights to that first game. In the second and third you clearly see it says EA and we all know EA love multiplatform games in which makes them more money.

The Mass Effect 3 WiiU edition will come with the dark horse comic a bit like ME2 did on PS3 when they didn't get ME1. It is a comic which goes through the story for you in comic form obviously and allows you to make key decisions (Wrex, ashley, kaiden, ME2 stuff) it is meant to be pretty lengthy. The only other addition is having an extra screen on the game pad which allows users to constantly have a map on the go and allows you to assign your abilities through that screen. A new weapon has been shown as well which is ok and the fact you can instantly play it from a TV to the control is the obvious gimmick.

It will also contain the extended cut DLC endings which is a plus for WiiU owners but all in all it is a port of a game that has been out for sometime and is now available for the ever loving Wii and Nintendo population.

Yeah...this is a very bad idea.

I thought that porting this game to the PS3 was a bad idea, but at least with the PS3 the same treatment was given to ME2. Releasing the third game of a trilogy on a console that will probably never get the first two instalments is just plain stupid. I suppose from a marketing point of view it makes sense, since it's BioWare, it's Mass Effect, it's going to mean more sales, but really, it's a terrible idea. At least if they released Dragon Age II you wouldn't miss anything by having not played the first, since it's not a direct sequel. The Mass Effect games aren't really standalone things, and the crappy little comic thing they did to make up for the PS3 not having the original game was bad enough.

Oh well. I didn't buy it for P3, I won't buy it for Wii-U if I get one. It should have remained a 360 exclusive, really.

^Not being able to play the first two only affects one's experience pertaining to the game's narrative, which really isn't that big of a deal, especially considering the fact that the ME trilogy's narrative(s) are some of the most cliche-ridden pieces of soap opera horseshit ever to befoul the Earth. Players will still be able to fully experience the best game in the series as a game, even if it's still a poor man's Gears of War with dumbed-down "RPG" elements.
