So just to clarify-you have to buy access to social groups now, or is that just to start up your own? I joined three before all the fiddling going on in the background, but I can't access them at all.

Also, for anyone who doesn't wanna buy the 150 x 150 avatar, can one still wait to become a Veteran to get that perk, or is it now only a buy-only thing?

You have to buy the access to user groups period. No matter if you want to join one, view one, make one, etc. You cannot do any of that unless you buy the access rights.

And yes, you can still wait and become a veteran.

Yep you must buy Social group access. It is for quite a bit of points though. I have enough but I just don't find interesting ones .

Veterans will always get the big avvys free.
