Ggrgrg.... Let me tell you... Staggering him at first is no problem. Then once he gets out of stagger, he goes into friggin' spam mode. He kills EVERYONE and I can't do anything about it. I'm using Lightning, Sazh and Vanille.

Lightning has 5455 HP
Sazh has 5550 HP
Vanille has 4700 HP

He'll go into spammy frenzy spaz mode and shoot these needle things at me over and over until my party leader is dead. =.= I go into MED/RAV/MED mode when he disables his limiters and goes apeshit frenzy spaz. I still can't defend those even with every single buff that comes from Sazh.

What should I do? D:

Try switching Sazh with Hope, as Hope's the far better Synergist.

I found a team of Lightning, Fang and Vanille was sufficient though. However, I used Fortisol and Aegisol before going into battle. I found it was best to stagger him, then have Lightning and Fang, as commandos, pound him, he died within two staggers. I think my characters had similar HP to yours, too.

My Fang has like 1000 Strength so maybe I'll experiment some... I just bought a ton of Bangles and upgraded them. So each of my characters have like an extra 300 HP now.

Is this 1st or 2nd encounter? my party was Light, Fang and Hope-7000 HP, 6500 HP, 5800 HP respectively, use relentless assault for 1st stagger then switch to combat clinic during every retaliation strike then use diversity instead of relentless assualt for every stagger thereafter, this is slow and wont get you a good rating but it kills him giving you the gift of a few nice cutscenes after the battle and plenty of CP

You don't need any shrouds. I beat him both times with Lightning ~4000 hp, Snow ~6000hp, Hope ~4000 hp.

When he's in arial mode, stagger with Relentless Assault, when he's staggered, go to (COM COM MED if you need to heal, or COM COM SYN) physical attacks do much more damage to him than magic attacks.

When he's about to do retaliatory strike after his chain gauge clears from being staggered, switch to MED SEN MED and heal yourself, don't worry about the other characters since it's ok if they die. When he's in annihilation mode, use diversity, and when you're low on health, use solidarity (COM SEN MED). It's unlikely that you'll stagger him when he's in annihilation mode though.

Pretty simple really, you'll want to stagger him quickly when he's in arial mode and use dual commandos when he's staggered, and focus on healing and staying alive when he's in annihilation mode. Good luck!
