The Warriors of Light have arrived at the Castle of Cornelia, they are here to speak to the King of Cornelia, on the way to the grand castle is the town of Cornelia. The citizens of which, like those around the world are patiently waiting for the coming of the Warriors of Light.

The chosen four, now here can bring an end to the darkness that is plaguing the world. Restoring the sea, sky, earth and fire to it's former glory and remove the evil from the world.

-----------------------------------------------------

Drake stepped forth into the Town of Cornelia, guards were stationed at every exit to keep monsters out of the town. within were four shops for weapons, armour, black magic and white magic respectively, as well as an inn. The townspeople, while tense were welcoming enough to himself and his 3 friends.

Before meeting the king, it would be a good idea to get equipped sufficiently in case of an emergency. Standing before his allies he conveyed his thoughts "It would be a good idea to ready ourselves for whatever comes next. We must prepare ourselves before identifying our crystals before the King, the world won't be saved if we exhaust ourselves"

Wylfred walked slowly behind his friends. The townspeople of Cornelia smiling, some were staring. Wyl examined the small town, a dancer dancing behind a bush eyed him for a minute before smiling. Wyl blushed. Before long, Drake, had stopped the group.

"It would be a good idea to ready ourselves for whatever comes next. We must prepare ourselves before identifying our crystals before the King, the world won't be saved if we exhaust ourselves"

"Well I suppose we could. I really don't see the big deal behind these crystal things. But whatever we do is fine with me." said Wylfred his gaze drifting towards the dancing girl behind the bushes. "A wouldn't mind getting a new weapon. This dagger of mine is getting rusty anyways."

"It would be a good idea to ready ourselves for whatever comes next. We must prepare ourselves before identifying our crystals before the King, the world won't be saved if we exhaust ourselves"

Mariella, tiny as she was, stood behind the thief of their little group. Peering out from behind him, she cast nervous eyes over the town. Everything was new, and strange to the petite white mage. She let out a little sigh and stepped around Wylf as he spoke.

Drake, easily the leader of their party. Mariella gazed up at him and blinked. She would have to trust him with this, of course, after all, the choice was a wise one.

"Whatever you think," she replied in a small, but sweetly clear voice. Her eyes rolled slightly as Wyfl mentioned something about a dagger... or some sort of pointy stabby weapon. Mariella wasn't overly interested in those sorts of weapons and her attention drifted to a small bird pecking at the ground close by. Moving to it, she held out her dainty hand and laughed a joyous little giggle as the bird hopped onto it. She peered at it for a moment before lifting her hand high over her head, the bird singing as it burst into flight.

Turning her eyes back to the party, she smiled softly. "Where do we start?"

Walking several metres behind the main group was Ahrexian. He was largely uninterested in the affairs of those around him and was holding a book in his right hand which he was reading from intensely. In his left hand was his staff, which he was using to walk on, not becuase he needed to, but because it would warn him of holes in the ground before he walked into them as he wasn't looking where he was going.

"It would be a good idea to ready ourselves for whatever comes next. We must prepare ourselves before identifying our crystals before the King, the world won't be saved if we exhaust ourselves"
"Typical, always about those damned crystals" he thought to himself. Luckily he had heard Drake say this and so stopped before walking into the petit woman in front of him. Mariella her name was, he thought vaguely, still skimming the pages of his book.
He heard something about preparation and thought perhaps it might be an idea to go find a shop where he could learn at least one spell, as a weapon would be of little or no use to him.
He knew they wouldn't notice if he slipped away, they were the crystal bearers after all, and today, the meeting with the king, it was all about them.

Blaise sauntered his way into Cornelia unannounced, as was his usual method. After trading bawdy jokes with a group of men, performing sleight of hand tricks for a group of children, and flirting with virtually every comely lass in the city limits, the red mage finally made his way to where Drake, Mariella, and the others stood. He arrived just in time to hear Drake's advice to the group.

"It would be a good idea to ready ourselves for whatever comes next. We must prepare ourselves before identifying our crystals before the King, the world won't be saved if we exhaust ourselves"

Sensing an a small group of Cornelians gathering around the group, Blaise took the opportunity. "That's right, ladies and gentlemen of Cornelia! Nay, all you citizens of the world! We, the Warriors of Light, your champions, your heroes, your compatriots, are here to deliver you from the horrors that stalk your nightmares, the monsters that ruin your daily life, the evils that you just plain don't like! Good people, we are here ..... FOR YOU!"

There was a smattering of confused applause from the handful of people who listened to Blaise's announcement. After a slight pause, Blaise put a hand to his chin in thought. "Hm. I'm going to have to work on that introduction. Maybe a little more build-up and a little less brevity." While he was thinking, he heard Mariella, the white mage, speak up.

"Where do we start?"

Clapping his hands, Blaise turned to the group with renewed joviality. "Like the little lady said, what's the deal; where do we go, what do we do, all that good stuff?"

"Where do we start?"

"Like the little lady said, what's the deal; where do we go, what do we do, all that good stuff?"

"To start, we need to be well equipped for the days that await us. In this age there is no fun and games to be had beyond these city walls. The fight to preserve the light is going to be filled with hardship, as you all well know, we do this not for fame but the good of every living thing in this world, be they human or animal. Steel yourselves for when we leave, and remember our money budget before you buy something, regardless of what title we may have things still cost money"

After his speech of sorts, Drake turned to wander over to the Armor shop, the interior was small and simple with a single Armor clerk behind the counter. On offer was clothing much like his own, some well tailored Leather Armou and what actually caught his eye, a suit of Chain Mail.

"Yes sir? What can I get you this day?" stepping to the counter, Drake replied "I'll take one of your suits of Chain Mail" with this the Clerk lifted down one of his Chain Mail suits and placed it on the counter "that'll be 65 gil sir" placing the money on the counter Drake lifted the suit of Chain Mail and put the outfit on before leaving the shop.

"There's one task taken care of, I suppose i'll wait by the fountain for the others..." Proceeding to the fountain at a slow walk he waited for his companions to finish shopping so they could meet with the King.

"To start, we need to be well equipped for the days that await us. In this age there is no fun and games to be had beyond these city walls. The fight to preserve the light... blah blah... blah..."

Of course, Drake hadn't actually said "blah blah... blah." Blaise had simply stopped listening. He heard the words "well equipped" and figured he had the general point, and let his mind wander. He wasn't ignoring Drake out of malice or bad intent, he just figured Drake was one of those warriors who took themselves and their role as a warrior very seriously. So everything to them was all slay the dragon, provide succour to the poor, and help the damsel in distress. In other words, completely boring. Though Blaise wouldn't have minded the damsel part.

Snapping out of his thoughts, Blaise realized Drake had finished talking, and had left in the direction of the shops. "Right, well, if you fine folks will excuse me, I will go and do what it was our illustrious leader said to do. I've got a few stops to make, so if I'm not back soon... just wait longer."

=====

Blaise made his rounds to the four shops he needed to visit. From the White Magic Shop, he purchased Cure, and from the Black, Fire. For his equipment, he traded in his Knife for a Rapier at the Weapon Shop, and purchased a fine piece of red-dyed Leather Armor at the Armor Shop.

His purchases complete, Blaise made his way back to where he left his companions. Seeing Drake by the fountain, he strode over and sat on the rim of the basin. Flashing a grin at the younger man, Blaise addressed him. "What ho, Warrior. I have returned successfully from my most solemn mission of equipment purchasing."

"Like the little lady said, what's the deal; where do we go, what do we do, all that good stuff?"

Mariella scowled. Little lady? How dare he! Before she could show her displeasure at being called thus, Drake started speaking.

Mariella's head tilted gently to one side as she listened to Drake speak. There was one particular word that stood out to the tiny white mage; 'Animal'. That one word alone set her eyes back to the bird that now flapped its wings joyously and soared above them, just out of reach. Mariella marvelled in the chirping little voice that vibrated from its throat.

When she finally dragged her eyes back to Drake and Blaise, she blinked. "Where the devil have they gone..." she murmured, paying no attention to the Thief she stood close by. Sighing softly, she walked gracefully over to the White Magic store and blinked again as she passed Blaise. Another scowl marred her brow as she stepped over to the counter, waiting until he was gone before making her purchase. Naturally, she went for the Cure spell. And as a white mage, she would be needed to protect her allies, thus she purchased Protect as well.

With a little skip in her step, Mariella inadvertently followed Blaise over to the Weapon store. Investing in a Hammer, she stepped out of the store and watched the other Mage until he moved over to Drake. Hefting the Hammer in her slender hands, Mariella had a rather interesting daydream that involved whacking Blaise over the back of the head with it.

With a secretive little smile on her lips, she walked over to the Warrior and Red Mage. Resisting the urge to follow through with her little vision, she rested the hammer on the ground and perched on the edge of the fountain. Pushing back the hood of her White Mage robe, her smile widened slightly. "You'd think Thiefy would be done by now..."

Ahrexian simply listened to Drake, noticing, but ignoring what happened around him. Once the man had finished speaking he headed over to the Black magic store. Picking up the "Thunder" and "Sleep" abilities, two he had practiced with before, he decided he was all but ready for whatever happened next.

He headed over to the fountain where three of the others were waiting. Now that he thought about it, he was sure there had been a fourth. As he waited he pulled the book back out from under his robe, perched himself on the edge of fountain and read whilst he waited. He knew he would be waiting a while, even after the fourth had returned, he wasn't part of the group heading to the palace anyway...

Wylfred wandered into the weapons shop. He spotted a weapon behind the counter and went to look for it. "Hmmm rapier?" Looking at the man behind the counter he said "I'll take two please!"

After buying these he looked over at the armor shop next door. with a sigh he shrugged and walked away with his newly equipped weapon. He wouldn't need to be heavily armed when he could evade. Wyl got a peek of the dancer from earlier and stood close by. She caught a glimpse of him and said "Teehee, watch me dance!"

With that she began to prance around, a emerald necklace and a pink frilly dress began to sway on her. Wyl watched the girl dance and sway the necklace around her neck dancing with her. Suddenly he joined in her dance and held her close, being so sudden as to startle the young woman. The fountain! he remembered.

"Oh! gotta go!" he said to the girl as he went rushing off towards the fountain, an emerald necklace in his clutch.

OOC: During the audience with the King i'll be controlling the characters to the extent of moving them there and making them show their respective crystal. Nothing more, you are free to say if, for instance you spoke during the walk to see the King, or perhaps thinking things during the King talking etc etc. Hope that's okai, if not say so in the Discussion thread and i'll edit this post

IC: With all the Warriors of Light gathered, Drake spoke to all of them. "Blaise, Wylfred, Mariella. Now we are ready we must see the King at once. From this point on there is no going back, I thank you for joining me on this quest". Turning and walking toward the guard at the northern exit the guard spoke to him "The King is looking for the fabled Warriors of Light" Drake cupped the crystal he wore around his neck "Yes, myself and my friends are those people" The guard took a look at it before engaging a look of surprise "Th-That's a crystal! You and your friends must see the King at once!" The guard stepped aside, allowing them through to see the King.

Entering the castle the four stood before the King "Welcome, travelers. I am told you carry crystals. Is this true?" on command the four showed their crystals, red, blue, green and brown. "It's just as Lukahn's prophecy foretold: When darkness veils the world, four Warriors of Light shall come". The Chancellor, stood to the King's left then adressed the King "Your Majesty, we cannot be certain that these are the warriors foretold by the prophecy". "Yet they stand before us with the crystals. I cannot dismiss this as mere coincidence. Crystal bearers, there is a task I would ask of you. Will you not rescue my daughter Sarah?" In response, the Chancellor adressed the Warriors "Garland, a knight once in His Majesty's service, has abducted Princess Sarah. I ask for your aid in the name of His Majesty, the king of Cornelia. Garland has taken refuge in the Chaos Shrine, which lies to our north. Of course, we did attempt to save the princess ourselves... But Garland is the finest swordsman in the kingdom. We have none who can match him". The King then returned to speaking to the warriors "I have heard that you wish to journey to the continent to our north. The bridge leading north was lost long ago, making passage impossible. If you can rescue Sarah, I will have the bridge rebuilt as a sign of gratitude. Go now, Warriors of Light, and do not fail me!"

After this long briefing, Drake bowed his head lightly in acceptance and left the room, their task was set, their goal clear and their quest was now set. There was no turning back now.

"So now we have to go and save some Sarah chick..." sighed Wyl. "I hope there's treasure..."

He followed Drake out of the castle. He couldn't help but thinking he was in way over his head, but then again, a little adventure would be a great chance to find rare items. "Meh I'm not all for helping but I guess I can do it. Let's go!"

"Welcome, travelers. I am told you carry crystals. Is this true?"

Blaise presented his crystal to the king with a sweeping flourish. Well, what would have been a sweeping flourish, had he not fumbled the crystal at the end of it, nearly dropping it. He laughed nervously as the image of the crystal shattering into a thousand pieces as it hit the floor flashed through his mind. To cover for himself, he whispered to Mariella, who was standing next to him. "That was a new trick I'm working on. Haven't quite worked the kinks out."

"Will you not rescue my daughter Sarah?"

Blaise's eyebrow, acting independently of Blaise's will, shot up at this.

"Go now, Warriors of Light, and do not fail me!"

Remembering his manners, for once, Blaise bowed before the King, then turned and left with the others. Once outside, the red mage announced his intentions. "This Garland fella had better be ready to meet his doom. I've got a beautiful Princess to save!"

"That was a new trick I'm working on. Haven't quite worked the kinks out."

Mariella rolled her eyes skyward as the warriors presented their crystals and learnt of the task the King was setting them. He just had to try and be flashy, didn't he? Her mind put emphasis on the word "try", causing Mariella to almost giggle out loud. She resisted the temptation, settling instead for a mysterious little smirk.

"This Garland fella had better be ready to meet his doom. I've got a beautiful Princess to save!"

"Heaven help her," Mariella muttered, hefting her new hammer and glancing around at her comrades. She didn't really like the idea of having to beat up some guy... but needs must. She was a Warrior of Light... the White Mage had to play her part accordingly. Letting out a gentle sigh that was lost on the breeze, her wide eyes flickered to Drake. "Away we go then, I assume?"

As everyone left the throne room, Drake took a deep breath and lightly shut his eyes, opening them alertly as he heard Blaise shout out as he walked past him. "This Garland fella had better be ready to meet his doom. I've got a beautiful Princess to save!" sighing he planted his hand into his face "Of all the places... Why directly outside the throne room?" Drake thought to himself.

"Away we go then, I assume?" Hearing Mariella below him he lowered his hand and turned his head to her "Yes, the sooner we deal with this Garland, the sooner we can continue on" walking towards the exit of the castle, without turning he addressed Blaise, Mariella and Wylfred "We don't know what to expect from this man, if he is as skilled as the King says we had best steel ourselves for a tough fight. But if we combine our strengths we can overcome anything. If our faith in the light, and our crystals remain there is no way we can lose"

Walking outside the castle Drake walked on through the path between the town as he looked northwest. In impeded view he caught a glimpse of a cave somewhere beyond a mountain range. "Well... This is it"

"We don't know what to expect from this man, if he is as skilled as the King says we had best steel ourselves for a tough fight. But if we combine our strengths we can overcome anything. If our faith in the light, and our crystals remain there is no way we can lose"

"Way to have spirit?" said Wylfred as he placed his crystal back inside his bag.

Wyl never believed in things until he saw it with his own eyes. "This Garland...I wonder what his purpose is for kidnapping that girl..."

Wylfred caught Drake staring at the mountain range in the northwest. "Well... This is it"

"Wha?" went Wyl. "You mean we're headed there? That's pretty far..."

As the others left the castle Ahrexian noticed them and stood up.
"So where are we headin, what have we got to do?" He addressed Drake, the obvious leader of the group, he was not a people person and so was not interested in learning what the others had to say at the moment. He had followed Drake here and wanted to know the facts, from him, and him alone.

"So where are we headin, what have we got to do?"

Blaise clapped one of his hands on each of the mage's shoulders. "Well, my well-read, dark-souled, lightning-slinging friend, we are going to that cave over yonder." Blaise pointed in the complete opposite direction of where Garland was. Hearing Drake clear his throat behind him, Blaise turned to look at the warrior over his shoulder. Drake inclined his head to one side, indicating the actual direction they would be heading. "Oh, right."

Blaise bodily spun Ahrexian one hundred and eighty degrees around. "That cave over yonder. In which we'll valiantly dispatch of this nasty, despicable, most likely hideously ugly 'Garland' person, and then I shall deliver the Princess unto her father and receive a great reward!" Blaise emphasized the final word with a thrust of his fist. He looked around in the silence that followed, and quickly added, "Oh... and uh... we'll get that... bridge thing built too."

Mariella's eyes followed the line Drake's took and the tiny girl took a deep breath. It was a long way. Thief-boy was right. And whilst she really was not looking forward to heading deep into som cave, or something or other, they had no choice. The king had given this task to them, The Warriors of Light, and it was up to them to see it through.

Tugging at the edges of her white robe, making sure it was sufficiently covering her head, Mariella turned her silvery eyes onto Blaise, finally noticing the sudden addition to their little group. She watched the little act the Red Mage was performing with the other, scowling slightly. As Blaise drew to his rather dramatic close, her expression softened and her face cracked into a small smile. This was soon followed by a peal of laughter that broke passed her lips. Clamping a hand over her mouth, the white mage forced the urge to laugh further out of her mind. Choking slightly as she stifled her giggles, Mariella stood straight and tried to regain her composure.

"We better get a move on then." she said softly, resting her hammer against her shoulder and tilting her head shyly. "Lead the way, Sir."

As Blaise placed his hand on Ahrexian's shoulder he looked down at it in disgust, although he doubted the the red mage would even notice...

As the man spun him around Ahrexian muttered "Get off of me, this is ridiculous..."

Drake had however corrected the red mage in the direction they would be heading, and he was more than happy to get going, even if to put a few metres between himself and this new found annoyance...

As he began to walk away from the palace Ahrexian thought he heard a high pitched noise behind, but only for a split second. "Never mind that." He thought as he began walking...
