My Life As A King

Alright so when I bought my Wii and got a internet conection I downloaded a few Wii games; one of these was a Final Fantasy game called; "Final Fantasy: My Life as a King."

I am not sure if anyone here has played Dark Cloud 1 or 2, but it kind of reminded me of that except 10 times worse (not saying Dark Cloud was a bad game as it is one of my Favs). I'm not saying the game is crap, just that it is very limited, repetitive, boring, and...


You play as king who must rebuild his town. To do so you send people off to dungeons to collect the stuff needed to do so. You spend your time running around talking to people, recruiting people, and building. And that is it, no fighting, nothing.


You ask me this just might take the cake for worst FF game ever...

Yeah, I think it's on Wiiware.

I contemplated it at one point but I heard it was dire so I didn't bother, I think I read somewhere that you send other people out to play "Final Fantasy" for you by killing monsters and stuff whilst you stay at home. That put me off straight away, it sounds naff.

I heard it isn't too bad. It received moderately favourable reviews and was generally adored by the Nintendo UK Magazine staff. It is a Wiiware game so I never expected anything terribly deep in it. I don't like the obscene plastic quality of the characters' faces. Even when a tragic scene occurs, it really shows how diabolical the facial movements are- no one looks sad- all seem to stay smiling. A similar Wii game, Little King's Story is a much better alternative.

My Life As A Darklord is worse than My Life As A King. It has had less favourable reviews, boring gameplay, hardly anything you would call a story, and a really ugly Darklord princess. I was put off the moment it was announced.

Agreed with you there. She reminded me of Two-Face in that costume of hers...

Anyways...I was debating getting this, although decided against it - Final Fantasy games on the WiiWare tend to be horrendously expensive, once you've bought all the upgrades to go with them...

As for worst Final Fantasy game ever...outside of the mainstream titles (I'll avoid bashing FFIX) I'd say Crystal Defenders gets that honour.

i actually thought this game was quite interesting....kinda Final Fantasy version of Age of Empires but without the whole watching your army battle. you do get a log of what happened, its kind fun to read who did what, killed what etc. i never finished it though cause my Wii broke..

My Life as a Dark Lord apparently is very bad...never played it though!

I like the game, especially because it's on the Wii for the Wiiware (also because I got it for free HINT HINT). I see it as a great game to pass away time and enables you to have the same feeling the "Dark Cloud" series gave in a way, but with more emphasis on village creation and less with story.

There is a "My life as a Dark Lord" for the Wiiware too, however I personally find it harder to understand that version.
