Chrono Trigger: A Past To Remember

-OOC Thread-

World Map

The sun rises steadily, bringing it's warmth to the beings in the world. Animals begin to stir from their rest, and gradually, the birds began their song. A gentle wind blows across the lands, sweeping away the storm clouds from the night before.

Guardia Castle

Thanks to the rain the night before, the castle was particularly cold. However, with the fireplace, burning with the last of it's flames, the room was anywhere close to cold in this place. Yawning loudly, the grey-bearded man stretched out his arms. His wife, still sound asleep frowned slightly, turning away from him.

Getting off the bed, he rubbed his eyes as he called for the servants to attend to him. Promptly, they got him dressed in his royal attire. What inconvenience, this man thought as he finally got dressed, and left for the Throne Room, where the ministers awaited.

"So, what news do you have for me?" He asked, falling back on his throne with a huge sigh.

His mood was particularly foul that day. Thanks to the monsters in Medina, he had to wake up this early almost everyday- quite contrary to his usual patterns of waking up at around noon. Being a King in a peaceful land was like this, but with war up the cards...

"Yes, My Liege. Those monsters seem to be arming themselves once again- from what our scouts report."

The speaker, the Minister of Intelligence, Thomas, continued," We suspect that they may be following the exact same way they did 2 centuries back, following in Magus' footsteps."

Nodding sagely, King Guardia XXVII responded, his tone imperious," Porre? Tsk. I have no intention to let them do as they deem fit!"

Immediately, an armoured man stood out from the line of ministers. His armour was elaborate, with a lining of gold on the edges. This extended from his medium helmet, down to his metal boots. However, the King himself knew his abilities, and how befitting this armour had went with him.

Bowing, he spoke, or rather, shouted," YOUR MAJESTY! I, GLENN THE THIRD SHALL NOT FAIL YOU!"

The King sighed. General Glenn had a bad habit of shouting, probably from the drills he often engaged the Knights of the Square Table in.

"Good. Go ahead and put up recruitment notices in Truce then. From what I recall, the Knights alone would be too insufficient in handling those monstrosities."

"THANK YOU! THANK YOU, YOUR MAJESTY."

Bowing again, he continued," I SHALL TAKE MY LEAVE OF YOU THEN!"

Turning away, he left the throne room, and the King sighed, glad to have him gone.

Truce

By mid-morning, the Knights arrived at Truce, putting up the recruitment notices around the area, taverns, town halls, and sometimes, on houses themselves.

Truce is a moderately modern city. Contrary to the map, which suggests few houses in the place, those areas representing houses contains a large number of them. Yet, they all share a single communal well at the centre of the town, from which they draw water.

~EVENT~

Recruitment Notices up in various areas within Truce. These notices directs the reader to Guardia castle for recruitment within the castle's Eastern Tower.

Guardia Forest, near the village of Truce

Christiane was sitting on a smooth, flat rock in a clearing in the forest. She had her quarterstaff next to her in case an enemy tried to attack. Christiane was meditating on how she journeyed to the Kingdom of Guardia. It was totally different from the Imperial Capital that she spent most of her recent life living in.

However, it made no sense wondering about how she got here, all that mattered if how to make the most of it. So Christiane decided to head south of the forest, towards the nearest civilization to her.

After hours of traversing the forest, Christiane reached the city of Truce. In the city she saw several large houses remeniscent of the moderate sized towns where she grew up in. However, most of these houses were plastered with papers. Taking a look at one of the papers, she saw it was a recruitment paper to join Guardia's Army. Christiane scoffed at the paper and went her way.

Port town Truce: Docks

The caravel bobbed up and down in the calm waves as it approached the port town. The gulls glided by the mast as dolphins popped out and swam besides the prow of the ship. On the deck, a slight girl stood by the railing, her clothings stood out very distinctly from the rest of the travellers on the boat. Whereas many natives on the boat wore feudal clothings, mostly in brown or white, the girl was decked out in a one piece dress in pastel pink. Moreso, on her belt were many odd devices and weapons, many which have not seen before.

How positively archaic. A sail boat. It is so different from home...

For Emilia, it was a blast into the past. Esperia was so much more different and everything was so fresh and new, metaphorically. The dispatch to this part of the world had come not long ago. Caduceus had little presence in this region and their continent was rather far off. The institute had decided to send for a scout to see if a branch could be set up for quicker dispatch if conflicts arose. This job fell to Emilia as she was the closest medic to the continents.

Thud

The boat bumped into the docks of Truce and the typical shouting of sailors echoed thorughout the area. Ropes were being thrown and blanks lowered so that the passengers could disembark. Emilia walked swiftly down the gangplank in a purposeful manner of someone with a mission, only ti wreck it by falling over on the flat wharf.

Owowowow... That hurts....

Picking herself off the ground and rubbing her forehead, a notice on the wooden notice board got her attention. It was a call to arms for soldiers, which either meant conquest or defense. That was not good.

Tch, great. Come in time for civil unrest.

The biggest problem was that with Esperia being so far away, back-up was pretty useless. This highlighted the need for a branch in this area.

Whatever, it doesn't concern me. Off towards the capital.

Without a second glance, Emilia picked herself off the ground and made her way towards the castle. Her job right now is diplomatic. The war are the soldiers problem.

Forest above the village of Truce

Never could hear the soft whispers of the wind as his vision cleared. He opened his eyes fully now, taking in the view of the new land to which he traveled. He looked around the forest in which he now stood. A small brown mouse came crawling from the hood of Never's purple cloak.

"Where do you think this is Cheep?" Never asked the mouse.

The brown mouse just responded with a blink and a "cheep!"Never searched himself for his sword. The Ever Sword was neatly tucked beneath his cloak. Its white surface almost illuminating the forest with the white bone from whence it was made. Without saying a word. Never traveled southward.

"I swear Cheep, this sword should come with a map." Never explained to the mouse. "I'm tired of ending up in the middle of nowhere....It's probably that wizard Giza's fault!"

"Cheep! Cheep!" went the mouse in Never's hood who meant something along the lines of: I agree! That Giza's a pain!

"Wait!" Never said as he glanced further down the road. "I think I see a town! Come on!"

Never rushed out of the forest and towards the village, his mouse Cheep hanging onto his hood for dear life...

Truce Inn

Never entered the place smelling of liquor and musk. There was a bar at the opposite end of the doorway.

"This place is supposed to be an Inn?" asked Never as he dodged a drunk man who went stumbling out of the door. "I dunno what to do at this point. Without Snow I'm useless...What do you think Cheep?"

The mouse thought for a minute and then replied with a "SqueaK! Cheep!" Which meant something around the lines of: Maybe you could check the town notice boards and find out where the evil comes from in this dimension.

"Thats a great idea Cheep! Never looked around the Inn and found a sign reading "Notice" on the floor. Never picked up the peice of paper and read the notice. "Whats this about monsters?! Sounds like a lead! Lets go Cheep!"

Never exited the Inn. "It was a call to arms for soldiers so its got to be linked to something. Once whatever evil is erased from this word our job is done and we'll be on to the next world!" Said Never in a cheer! "But where's Gar-di-uh?"

A small woman passing by overhearing him replied "Are you looking for Guardia Castle? It's right over there"

She pointed to a giant castle, not far from the town. Without saying 'thanks' Never walked toward the castle in awe. "I've never seen anything like it!" he said.

Never said "Hold on Cheep!" and quickly sprinted towards the giant castle...

Guardia Forest

The morning air was chilly as Never made his way through the dark forest towards the castle. It seemed like he had been walking for hours in a maze of trees. He looked around and stopped. "I swear we just passed this tree minutes ago!" moaned Never.

"Cheep! Chepu!" said Cheep looking from the back of Never's hood. "What was that Cheep?" asked Never.

His purple cloak swayed in the wind. The air got still. Rustling noises could be heard approaching. "Cheep! Chepu!" squeaked the mouse again which Never deciphered as "Look out from behind you!"

A giant serpent appeared slithering towards them, its fangs bared and loaded with venom. Never took a step back nervously. "H-hello!" said Never nervously.

The snake hissed and lunged. Never leapt to his left and with a quick draw of his sword the serpent was sliced in two. The head of the snake lunged at him a second time. Never was ready this time as he swung the Eversword with all his strength, and sliced the snakes head in half. Never backed away from the corpse slowly until he was sure it was safe.

"Good looking out Cheep." said never as he continued to make his way through the confusing forest. "I dont want to run into another one of those again!"

"Cheep!" went the mouse who meant: Look! There was a girl in pink heading through the forest a short distance away.

"Remind me to reward you Cheep. Thats twice in a row you've helped me out!" said Never as he followed the girl making sure to keep enough distance so that she wouldn't detect them.

Never was eager to begin his new adventure in this unknown world. He may not have found the exact source of evil but he was sure that he wouldn't mind the wait...

TRUCE MARKET

It was a crisp, cool early morning as Luca Dhamon made his way to the stall in the northeast corner of the Truce Marketplace. Business had been picking up lately, as the threat of war loomed heavily on the minds of the people under the sway of the King of Guardia. People wanted to be armed for defense, so they turned to the local smiths to obtain the necessary means to protect themselves.

Luca was not a smith, per se. But he most certainly dealt in weapons and armor. He had a knack for taking the basic elements of weaponry and armor and combining them to create new accoutrements of battle. One could say he was a specialist. If a person was looking for something unique, or something with a unique purpose, Luca was the man they went to see.

And with the rumblings that had been going around recently, people were going to see Luca quite a bit.

Luca opened the front door to his shop, reached inside the doorway, and brought out a small folding chair. Opening it, he set the chair up on his stoop and sat, a mug of hot chocolate he had bought on his way to his shop steaming in his hand.

He had only been seated for a few moments, and had only taken a single sip of his drink, when he spotted a royal representative of some sort tacking an official bull to the notice board in the center of the marketplace. Intrigued, Luca stood and walked casually over to the board.

Reading aloud to no one in particular, Luca perused the message contained on the bull. "Due to the threat of war.... calling for assistance.... all able-bodied men and women... honor and duty.... join the Royal Armed Forces."

Luca took a deliberate sip of his hot chocolate as he read over the bull again. They must be desperate, he thought. But he couldn't really blame them. If these were enemies similar to those that they had fought 200 years earlier, they would be formidable opponents. Assuming, of course, the stories Luca had heard were accurate. Luca took another sip, and returned to his shop. He had time to consider the recruitment notice. It would be interesting, working within the military. The pay would certainly be worth it, though Luca was not overly materialistic and made plenty of money through his business. He wondered if he would actually have a chance to fight, or if they would keep him in the rearguard, making weapons and armor.

Those thoughts left his mind as he reached his stoop. He had a customer, the first of what promised to be many during another busy day of work. He would consider the notice later, after he extracted some information from the people who came into his shop. They were always a good way to get the pulse of what was going on in the surrounding areas.

Maybe he would join the Royal Armed Forces. It had been a while since he had had a good adventure.

Truce-Downtown

Christiane can't stop thinking about the paper. While she was no soldier, (she refused comission into the Imperial Belkan Knights), she was a warrior who refuses to back down from a challenge. To refuse a challenge would be to question her honor, and she was not going to lose her honor at a time like this.

Christiane came up to another bull, which said the same thing. She pulled it off the side of the building and looked at the location where the recruitments would be. "Guardia Castle..."

She looked up to a castle in a distance, located in the direction where she just came from. She then decided to go to the Markets and see what she could find.

((OOC: Some details about General Glenn in the Eastern Tower... Actually, South Eastern. Nevertheless, do take the details into consideration. That, and a slight peek on the monster's side. I am trying to infuse some humour, but then again, it may not hit off well.. Worth a shot though :P))

Guardia Castle- South Eastern Tower

His armour produced a metallic clank with his every step. Pacing back and forth furiously, it wasn't difficult for any of the Knights close by to know General Glenn was immensely impatient. The dispatched Knights had just returned, which meant the recruitment notices were now up. What would follow should be interested commoners that would come along, at least, for the next few days.

Which made it reasonable to assume General Glenn was being too hasty to expect the people to sign up instantly at this juncture. Nevertheless, the man continued pacing, his rough, weather-beaten face contorted into a dark scowl. "YOU TWO. GO PATROL THE CASTLE ONCE MORE." He shouted, pointing to a pair of Knights close by.

Knowing full well how terrible a mood the General was in, the Knights promptly bowed and left. In fact, they were exceedingly pleased to be out of here.

No one liked being around General Glenn when he was in such a mood.

The Knights stood around uneasily. Having little to no reason to leave, they decided to stay quiet, and not agitate the already agitated General. The tower was constructed in such a manner that blocked out the heat of the sun at noon to cool the place down. Despite these facts, the Knights couldn't help sweating as they feigned conversations with one another to avoid the General's notice.

Finally, the General stopped, to sit down on a chair beside him. Taking off his helmet, he tossed it aside, startling some of the Knights, as it resounded noisily on the floor. "DAMN!" He hissed, for no particular reason, save to express his annoyance. The Knights around gulped, remaining quiet.

Medina: The Mayor's House

"Tsk, you impish fellow!"

Fretting, the blue imp scrubbed the floor harder. Guffawing loudly, the rather round figure stepped forward, behind the said imp. This was yet, another monster, however, very much fatter, and purple in colour. Although he was only slightly taller than the imp, his stature didn't do much to make him appear more imposing.

His pointed cat-like ears twitched, as he turned to see yet another imp slacking on the job. "Argh!" He shouted, his armour shook with his sudden outcry- his armour, being just a breast plate that he wore.

Pointing an accusing finger at the imp, his eyes warned the imp into fierce commitment. "I'll be expecting quite a number of guests. YOU BETTER CLEAN THIS PLACE UP BEFORE THEY ARRIVE!"

The volume of this final exclamation scared the imp into a frenzied state. It was at this state, he smiled slyly. "Be honoured you are serving a descendant of Ozzie!" He continued, proceeding to laugh loudly.

Guardia Forest
Emilia had Shiro out of its holster and was performing a periodoc check on the slide and action of the gun. Forests were notorious for traps and attacks, whether it be human or animals. The large pistol was in immaculate condition, as always and satisfied, Emilia slid in a rail magazine into the slot and chambered a round into the gun with a nice click which echoed through the silent air. She slipped it back into its holster and continued on her path through the trees.

Bzzz....Emilia...can you....he..re.... me.....

The comm was heavy with static and the small medic had trouble in hearing what the signalwoman had to say. Obviously, the first theing that needs to be done if a branch is set up is to build a relay station for the comm links.

This is Emilia. There is heavy static. I cannot hear you properly.

For a split second, the comm went clear and static free.

Hello...? Oh good. i can hear you know. Scouts from previous excursions have reported that the region has frequent conflicts due to there being a race of beast people there. Watch out for yourself and try to stay away from the lines. I know saving people is our job, but you have no back-up. You go down and you're staying there for a long time, 'kay? Cybil, over and out.

Emilia looked up and saw a slight clearing through the forest canopy and crystal clear skies. It seems that communication will be good if there is no overcast.

Roger that. I'll get this over with ASAP. Emilia Mariella, out.

Emilia was oblivious to the boy following her and she was quite loud just then. Wireless communication was unknown to almost the whole planet bar the few around Esperia. To the locals, she must have appeared crazy, talking to herself.

Suddenly, as if to prove her point about the dangers of the forest from earlier on, a warthog popped out of the scrubs from the left and snorted ferociously. Its eyes were wild and its leg pawed at the dirt track. With a wild oink and squeal, the animal charged. Studies have shown that unlike their domestic cousins, the pig, warthogs were extremely volatile and aggressive. They were also incredibly dull minded, able to keep moving for a few moments after trauma to the brain.

Like a flash, Emilia drew Shiro out of its place like a western cowboy and let off three shots. The resounding booms caused the local birds to panic and take off. All three shots landed in a tight circle in the warthogs forehead. But, as expected, its forward momentum and its dull brain allowed it to continue for another four steps before collapsing, sliding towards Emilia at a fast speed due to its momentum. Gracefully and well timed, Emilia steped forward as the dead animal came, set one foot on the sliding animal and hopped over the beast. There was a resounding thump as it collided with the trees by the road. Emilia levelled Shiro at the beast, just in case it was not dead. A few seconds ticked by until she was satisfied, tucking the gun away and continuing on. Best to get out of the forest as soon as possible. The gunshots might have attracted some undesireable attention.

((OOC: All right! Time to reveal some key characters. Lots of conversation in this one. To make life easier. I went on to make those portions where they are talking 'Lime Green'

For the conversation between Ozzie and Garathos. Green is Garathos, and Ozzie is Orange.))

Porre

Drawing the hood to enshroud his face, the man proceeded on towards the city, called Porre. At present, thanks to the rumours, the citizens were rather unsettled. It has been said that the monsters were planning to take down this region first in their assault on the kingdom of Guardia.

However, there was no stopping this person. Stepping into the Mayor's house, he walked directly to the Mayor. Understandably, the mayor recoiled, startled by this rudeness. It didn't help that he was dressed in a full black armour, with a fitting black cloak- and the hood. Match these with his scythe, he seemed like a personification of the Grim Reaper himself.

Obviously, the Mayor thought that way as well. ".. Who.. Who are you?" He stuttered, pointing a finger at the person. It was only then, the servants within the house realised the presence of this stranger. His entry had been a silent one.

"I." He said, his voice almost void of any evident emotions. "Am here to aid you against the Monsters of Medina."

The Mayor gulped. Looking at the figure, he realised from his tone this person had been serious about his words. There was no further reaction that suggested it to be a joke. However, he broke into laughter.

The man in black remained silent, merely watching the mayor like a statue, until he ceased laughter. "You, alone? Guardia will definitely send their Knights to our aid. Never you fear!"

"And when would that be? Wouldn't the monsters strike before that?"

The smile remained etched onto the Mayor's face. "Don't be foolish. Even the monsters themselves have to prepare before attacking us."

Sensing no further response from the man, the Mayor continued," Really, if you were that keen on helping, you should go sign up for the Knights at Guardia."

Up to this point, the man had remained still, and unmoving at whatever the Mayor had said. However, this time, he allowed himself to chuckle in response. The Mayor ignored that, sitting back down on the sofa behind him, he crossed his legs as he spoke.

"But I suppose I could keep you here with the Porre Militia for the time being. When the Knights arrive, I'll recommend you to them."

"Thank You."

Medina- Mayor's House

"Finally here, eh?"

The man, dressed in a deep blue robe, stepped into the house. Following him, was a lady, also dressed in the same deep blue robe. Taking positions beside, the door, they faced each other. The lady had hair that reached down to her waist, while the man, had a mushroom-like hair style.

Despite not being human, Ozzie had to admit, that hairstyle looked horrendous on him, but kept silent anyway. Shortly after, another person stepped in. This one was more elaborately dressed. He still wore the same robe, but this was beneath a breast plate that he wore over it.

He had fitting plate legs strapped on as well. This breast plate had designs on it that represented a magic circle, which seemed particularly familiar to Ozzie. He knew he had seen it somewhere before, but ignoring that, he welcomed the man into the house, leading him to his house's living room.

Sitting down on a chair facing Ozzie, the man made himself comfortable, resting his feet on the table directly in front of him. The two servants behind him shuffled over, standing behind him protectively. Ozzie struggled to hold back the urge to shout at him.

"Hullo, Ozzie... Uh.. The Eighth? Ninth?"

Still struggling to keep his face straight, Ozzie corrected him,"Sixth."

"Oh, Ozzie the Sixth. Pleased to meet you."

Smiling broadly, he shrugged, brushing away the mistake with an attempt at casualness. Ozzie didn't like this one bit, however, forced himself to greet him as well.

"Same to you, Lord Garathos."

Garathos nodded, acknowledging his greeting. This irritated Ozzie yet again, but he continued on to the main topic. The imps stuck their heads out, obviously to peek at the visitors. Noticing them almost made Ozzie lose his cool once again, but he pushed away the knowledge by speaking.

"So, we'll attack Porre as planned?"

Garathos nodded. "Yes. We will. As planned."

"Okay."

"Yes."

Silence followed. Unable to take the silence, Ozzie said," Shall we go over the plans again?"

Garathos smiled. "No."

Losing it at last, Ozzie got up, slamming the table with his fists. "DAMN YOU!"

The two servants- or rather, bodyguards- stepped forward defensively. Raising a finger at Ozzie, a bolt of lightning shot towards the purple coloured monster. However, those did not hit the target himself, zapping past the person. The two had wanted to warn him, rather than to kill.

"Calm down, Zacharias, Agatha."

Chuckling, Garathos raised a hand to wave them back behind him. "Ozzie, what did I do to agitate you so much?"

Thoroughly embarrassed, Ozzie found himself becoming red in the face. "Uh... It's those imps. They're eavesdropping!"

Pointing an accusing finger to the imps behind Garathos, he shouted for them to leave. The imps promptly left, shivering as they exited. Finally, sighing, Ozzie sat back down on his chair. "Those imps are quite a pain!"

Garathos nodded, understandingly. His eyes stared at Ozzie, almost as if it could tell Ozzie had other reasons to be angry. Nevertheless, he brushed that aside. "Well, you know the plan right? I would suggest it remains secret until we execute it ourselves- which is soon."

Giving the same smile as he had given earlier, Garathos added," After all, we wouldn't anyone else to know right? Who knows if the imps eavesdrop on us again! And betray us? Don't you know how dire the consequences would be?"

Ozzie nodded, frowning. It wasn't as if he didn't know all these. However, Garathos seemed to think otherwise.

"We'll immediately lose the war! We might as well not even declare war on Guardia at all! You know that?"

Another nod from Ozzie prompted Garathos to continue.

"Hence, it is important that we keep this secret, permanently would be best."

Yet another nod from Ozzie. Unfortunately, Garathos had not finished speaking.

"I still remember the time where this exact same scenario had been played out! Let me share it with you...."

Ozzie's mouth hung ajar.

Truce: Markets

Christiane entered the markets. It was like any other market in the area. They sold food, weapons, potions and the lot here.

She started off by entering a small stoop where a man was busy crafting items and chatting with customers.

Walking up to the stoop, she spoke to the person in a light, but German-accented tone. "Do you have any information concerning this." Christiane handed the person the bull concerning the Guardian Army.

"Do you have any information concerning this."

Her bluntness took Luca by surprise, and it took him a minute or two to gather his bearings in order to respond. "Um... yes, well, from what I've gathered, they're going to send a few of the recruits they get from this advertising campaign to Porre, to help with the Militia there." Luca handed the paper back to the abrupt woman and continued, "I had thought about joining myself, but I'm not entirely sure I want to leave my shop." Luca gestured around to his shop, busy at this hour. "Are you considering joining?"

"Yes, I'm considering joining." The young warrior, forgetting her manners said, "Where are my manners. My name is Christiane Freiherr, and as you can possibly tell, I'm not from around these parts." She bowed her head at the shopkeep and then said. "As for wether or not you should join. That decision is up to you."

Christiane then pointed up towards the castle. "I suppose that they accept recruits in that castle, am I correct?"

Guardia Castle

Never gasped for air as he attepted to climb the next stair on the way up to the castle. He was two steps to the castle entrance when he lost his strength and collapsed. "Man," Never gasped "this place is gonna kill me!"

Cheep ran from the hood and hopped up the two remaining stairs. "Cheep! Chepur!"
squeaked the little mouse who meant: Hurry the entrance is right there!

Never finally got up and jumped the last two steps and gazed at the entrance toward the castle. "Wow this all better be worth it Cheep." he said. "This building looks like something out of a fairy tale..."

He entered the castle with his mouse running along behind him. There were soldiers everywhere. They crowded the large foyer. Never observed them in awe, and got akward stares right back at him. He tried to find out where to fit in all the chaos. Just up ahead he could see a green haired man leading a group of 11 soldiers out of the castle. "WE NEED TO GET TO PORRE IMMEDIATELY!" the man shouted.

Never nudged a soldier in the group. "Hey where are you guys headed?" asked Never. "Arent you going to stay for the recruitment?"

The soldier looked at the boy with a questionable look and then replied "Were going to Porre early to defend against the first wave."

The soldier grunted and turned away to follow the group. Never stood there for seconds until he made up his mind. He was going to follow the soldiers who were headed to Porre. "Cheep!" went the mouse.

"I know Cheep." said Never "But if we get there and cleanse this dimension then we'll be off to the next world."

Never could see the crowd looking the opposite way, getting a speech from a person in the front. He tried to slowly but quietly sneak out of the crowd and follow the soldiers. He ran after them down the steps, making sure not to be seen by them.

The soldiers had all gathered on a wagon and had already taken off. By the time Never had gotten back to the bottom of the stairs, he was tired and had almost givin up. There were six horses and three wagons nearby to carry the soldiers to their destinations. "We only need one horse." said Never quietly.

He crept up to one of the horses and untied it from the wagon. it was a brown horse with a dark mane. Never had climbed upon the horses back and then shouted "GO!"

The horse stood still grazing on a peice of grass. "I don't suppose you've ever ridden a horse before." said Never to his mouse.

Cheep climbed up into Nevers hood and just observed. There was a CRACK!
nearby and the horse shot forward through Guardia forest. Never took a hold of the reigns and leadned forward on the horses neck. The cool wind blowing in his face made Never smile as he bounced up and down on the horses back. Never could hear the wagon up ahead and had slowed the horse down with the reigns.

"Now all we have to do is follow these guys to Porre." said Never happily.

The sky was now clearer than ever and Never was that much closer toward his goal...

"I suppose that they accept recruits in that castle, am I correct?"

Luca nodded agreement. "Yep, that's right. In the Eastern Tower of Guardia Castle, according to the notice."

Luca paused, and came to a decision. "You know what, if you'll wait a moment, I'll close up shop and come with you over to the castle. I think I'd like to join up too." Luca helped a few final customers, grabbed the coin out of his till, and closed to the door to his shop. He turned the lock, placed the key into one of the innumerable pockets on his cured leather vest, and turned toward Christiane. "I'm Luca, by the way. Luca Dhamon. Well. Shall we?"

Luca headed off to the northwest, in the general direction of Guardia Castle.

Guardia Castle

The castle loomed over Emilia as she emerged from the forest. It was grand and intimidating and, again, so different from Esperia. Not in an unpleasant way, but just different. There was massive commotion in the yards as knights and soldiers bustled around in a hurry, no doubt in preparation for war. Weaving her way through the yard around the bulky men in armour, drawing attention along the way, Emilia made her way towards the door. Typically, there stood two guards flanking the door. Straightening herself up and standing tall, Emilia stopped in front of the guards and announced herself in a diplomat manner.

I am Emilia Mariella, Medical Officer of the First Order representing Caduceus from the Commonwealth of Esperia. I wish for a appearance with your king on diplomatic matters.

Truce- Markets

"Well then Luca. I suppose we should get going." Before following the young smith northwest towards Guardia Castle.

Guardia Forest

Christiane was walking in a steady pace to avoid falling behind Luca. She kept quiet so as to focus on the road ahead as well as any enemies that may try to ambush them. Christiane also thought of any answer that Luca may try to ask her, as to where she's from, what kind of experience in fighting she has and the like.

((OOC: Nice to see an influx of posts... Well, time for more events to waylay some of you.. Those in Guardia Forest should remember to note that Never had just passed by though, and that the soldier is screaming?))

Guardia Castle - Outskirts

"All right. And once we get that, we assemble.."

Just then, a crack of a whip resounded through the air. Snapping to the direction of the sound, the soldier scowled. "HE'S STOLEN OUR HORSE!" He shouted, stomping on the wagon angrily. "CHASE!"

Whipping the horse furiously, he forced the unfortunate beasts to budge, but with all the soldiers on the wagon he was to ride, the horse could not move it. "DAMN YOU, NIT WITS. GET TO YOUR WAGONS!"

This, they promptly did, and the horse, finally able to move, rushed forth. This sudden increase in speed shook the soldier off balance and he fell off the wagon. Tumbling off the wagon, the horses halted. Meanwhile, the soldier was lucky enough to fall on mud, which cushioned his fall.

However, he didn't smell as good as before. "DAMN THAT PURPLE HAIR." He shouted, his voice echoing through the forest, scaring a few birds out of their nests. The soldiers behind couldn't help laughing at their leader's folly.

~EVENT~

Leader of Support Force to Porre bears a fierce animosity to Never. Should the two encounter, it'll be as if a volcano erupts.

Guardia Castle - Main Door

The soldiers maintained a stern expression as he stared on ahead. "Lady, if you're signing up as well, it'll be within the castle. Turn left for the Eastern tower, and go down the steps. General Glenn would be who you should seek out." He said, his lips as if it never moved.

It wasn't difficult to see how intent he was on his duty. After all, he'd rather be recognised as an excellent guard than an excellent soldier. The war may tear him away from life, which he so loved. Yet here before him, was someone so willing to recruit. Deep within, he felt a strong sense of respect, but held it back.

"Be wary though. General Glenn as a really bad temper."

His gaze rested on the girl for a brief moment, before returning to his serious survey of the area.

OOC: Emilia comes with a diplomatic message from Esperia, so maybe have Glenn completely ignore/misunderstand anything Emilia says and send her and Brumak to Porre.

Emilia scratched her head with fustration. Obviously, the guard was an idiot as he failed to comprehend her request. That needs to be corrected. Still with an air of importance, Emilia sniffed before continuing.

I do believe you have something mistaken. I am not a citizen of your country, so i do not see a reason i should be signing up...

Righto, missy. Outta the way. Brumak comin through!

From the back, a large, for a lack of better word, mercenary bumped into Emilia. The slight bump to the hulking giant was a swat to Emilia, sending her sprawling to the floor.

Hm? Ah, my bad missy.

Brumak lowered his giant sword from his shoulder before grabbing the small girl with his hand. His hand covered the entire forearm as he hoisted Emilia to her feet.

Signing up are ya? Perfect. So am i! Let's go.

Emilia began protesting as Brumak pushed her along towards the Eastern Tower, smiling like a simple man.

Name's Brumak missy. Mercenary. You seem a bit dainty to be fightin'. Especially in that.

Following Brumak's finger, Emilia saw that he was talking about her uniform and her legs.

A young girl should not be exposin' herself like that.

Ah hem. I am not a young girl. I have been in conflicts before and in these clothings. I am a medical officer and this is my uniform.

Aye? A medical offier? Perfect. Stay by me will ya? Makes me feel betta knowin' there is a doc around. Bwahahahaa! Just kiddin'. I won't need it, but those goin against me will.

By this time, the duo had reached where the guard had directed. Any explanation seems to be blown away with the wind. She hoped that this General Glenn is intelligent enough to listen. Both entered and looked around. Men were bustling around in a hurry like in the yard and both had no idea what to do until Emilia spotted a man in a much more decorated armour.

Hmph. Found him... Excuse me? General Glenn?

Emilia moved forward and Brumak stumbled along, completely lost. General Glenn, or who she thinks is General Glenn, turned to her call and instantly, Emilia had to agree with the guard. He did seem like a man with a temper.

Hello. I am Emilia Mariella,
Medical Officer of the First Order representing Caduceus from the Commonwealth of Esperia and i come with a diplomatic message to your king from our Council. Your guard seems to be inept as he fail to comprehend my request and sent me here. Perhaps you can help me with an audience to His Magesty?

Zenan Bridge
Never sat with one hand on his crotch area, the other on his horses reigns. "Who knew riding horses could be so painful!" Never moaned in pain.

The forest was long behind them and the castle loomed behind. Never's horse walked slowly. The road ahead was clear and visible. The other wagon was visible from where Never could see. Closer, and closer the horse walked on and the breeze began to pick up.

Never was almost asleep on the horse, but the pain in his groin made him unable to rest. "Cheepi!" squeakeed Cheep who meant something like: Water!

Never rubbed his eyes and looked clearly ahead of him. "That does sound like water!" he said excitedly. "Lets go!"

Never smacked the horses bahind and it sped towards the direction of the wagon carrying troops to Porre. "It's a bridge!"

The horse galloped on the bridge getting faster and faster! CLONK! Never was so busy looking at the ocean under the bridge that he failed to notice that his horse along with the wagon he was following had stopped and he had gone flying forward into the wagon of soldiers. "WHAT THE HELL!" shouted the leader of the troops. "Who is this fool?!"

"Never clumsily got himself up off a soldier who had cusioned his fall and replied "Im here to help you guys fight whatever it is you're fighting."

"Hey I've talked to that kid before!" said the soldier who recognised Never from the castle.

"SHUT UP!" said the general. "A clumsy kid like you trying to attack us with a horse?!"

Never: "Um no-"

General: "Arm yourselves men!"

Never: "W-wait! I said-"

General: "He could easily be a beast in disguise! Kill him!"

Ten soldiers stood to fight Never, their weapons ready. "No mercy!" shouted the general.

Never griped the Ever sword concealed inside his cloak. He didnt want to use force, but he wouldn't be attacked unfairly either. "I said I wanted to help." said Never. "But if you want to spar with me, go ahead!"

Two soldiers came at him head on. Their swords sharp. Never revealed his weapon once they got close enough and struck both their blades at once while jumping. He used his sword to propel off theirs in order to lift himself higher over their heads. Another three soldiers threw spears at him from below. Never used his sword as a sheild while chanting slowly in his head. Finally ten soldiers came at him,,. all weapons pointed directly at Never, but his mind was too quick. His Sword had opened its eye. "N-E-V-E-R......EVER!" he shouted.

A gush of wind propelled the soldiers back. Two people instead of one stood before the soldiers. They were both identical and one of them was black, the other white. "See? He has shown his true beast!" said the general. "Exterminate him!"

The soldiers stood quietly, just staring in observation.

"He thinks we are filthy beasts Nanem..." said the black being.

"He's treating us like vermin...But arent we the exterminators Zangarim?" said the light being.

Cheep the mouse had seen the air move behind the general. "Cheeeeeeep!" squeaked the mouse in panic.

"I though Never got rid of that thing ages ago." said the black being Zangarim.

"It wants us to change back...Lets go, theres no point in killing humans for no reason." said the light being Nanem.

With that he touched Zangarim and both had switched back to the purple tinted Never in a bright flash. "What was that earlier Cheep?" asked Never.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!" shouted the general. "That was obviously some type of magic! It's evil! Kill it!"

"But he says he's on our side!" said the soldiers! "Remember that humans used magic also in the past!"

Never ran forward towards the general. "Duck!" he shouted as a lightening bolt came flying towards him.

The general in shock obeyed and barely avoided death. "Sorry little grapefruit." said a blue hooded figure standing a short distance away. "I couldnt help but to but in."

The soldiers had all drawn their weapons but this time, it wasn't against him. Never stood there, this was definetly the bad guy he had been waiting for. The general was now focused toward the hooded figure. "Men attack!" shouted the general in rage.

"Now, now," said the hooded figure sweetly. "You just read my mind."

The mysterious stranger shot out three more lightening bolts at the crowd of soldiers. Never swiftly bounced them away with his sword. "Who are you?" he asked.

"The truth will com in time little grapefruit." said the hooded figure as he vanished.

"wait!" shouted Never. "I'm not a grapefriut!"

but the villain could not hear him, for he was already gone...

((OOC: @OliverSKX.
Who's that blue-hooded figure? I'm presuming you're having him be one of the mages aiding Ozzie. However, considering his different speech patterns, I think I'll have him be another character other than Garathos, Agatha and Zacharias... And the bridge's called Zenan Bridge.

@ Tipsynaruto
Okay. He's sent them away to Porre now.

@ The others
Do get along to Guardia castle soon. The attack on Porre has officially begun. ))

Guardia Castle- Eastern Tower

"EXCELLENT." He cried out. "SIMPLY EXCELLENT!"

Looking at the two, he nodded approvingly at the man. This man was of an outstanding stature. No doubt, General Glenn was certain of his capabilities in battle. The girl beside him appeared less imposing. In fact, her dressing seemed rather strange even for a female soldier.

However, her words changed his opinions otherwise. 'Representative!' He thought to himself. 'Well, other nations can't help taking interest in our affairs..'

Grinning broadly, he proceeded to pass down orders to the two of them. "I'm glad you have came to offer your services. After your victory, I'm sure whatever audience you wish to have with HIS MAJESTY would be granted."

By habit, Glenn had just shouted out the words 'His Majesty'. Pointing towards the door, his expression changed into that of fierce seriousness. "Well, what's left for you to do is to head now, to Porre. I've just sent the forces there, since recruits are taking forever to come!

"So, TO PORRE, NOW."

The Knights standing around shuddered in surprise. Admittedly, that wasn't much needed, but he decided on it nonetheless for emphasis.

~ Event ~

General Glenn had issued an order to the two to have them head over to Porre. They should reach after Never and Gang has arrived, however, to enter into the fray.

Zenan Bridge

The general straightened up, realising that the threat has disappeared from sight. Who would have known there would be someone wielding this much power behind him? If not for Never, he would have died, and he knew that. Feeling remorseful about his earlier treatment to Never, he approached the young man.

"Sorry, kiddo. Should have known better than to attack one of our allies, eh?"

Waving the soldiers away, he ordered them to stay guard on the bridge. Pulling out a Healing Salve from his pouch, he tossed it over to Never. "This had been given to everyone of us participating soldiers."

Turning away, he added," Seeing how you saved us. I think it's safe to have you with us.... But not with that horse you stolen! In the wagon."

~ Event ~

Leader of the Support Forces forgives Never for his actions earlier. They will proceed en route to Porre... To realise how quickly this war has escalated.

Porre- Mayor's House

"Watch out!!!" The soldier shouted, jumping out of the way just in time to avoid a lightning bolt. This bolt proceeded along it's path, to strike down an unlucky soldier behind the ranks. Staring out of his house, the Mayor paced around uncertainly. He had been expecting the supporting forces from Guardia, and certainly not their enemies in this war.

Thankfully, for some reason, their forces were doing a great job in holding them back. This, he quickly realised, was due to that strange man, dressed fully in black. His hood was still drawn, and while the Mayor would have chastised him for obstructing his own vision, he realised he was still doing better than all the soldiers despite this slight handicap.

The enemies had apparently decided to capture Porre, just as Magus did back in the year 600. Porre had been a rather strategic location to strike from, since Medina was located off an entirely separate continent. Furthermore, since Porre was the closest, it was the more suitable target.

However, the Mayor couldn't help but make one strange observation.

"Why does our enemies comprise of mostly these humanoid looking magic users?"

Looking out of his window, he watched as the man hacked down one of those figures, after cutting through one of the very few monsters in the area. These figures had chosen to don a blue robe, with a hood drawn over their heads.

They had no weapons with them, and attacked only by blasting bolts of lightning from their hands. It was strange that was the only element they wielded, but it did well enough to hold back the forces. If not for this scythe-wielding warrior, the battle would be to the enemy's favour.

The Mayor gritted his teeth, staring out at the battle scene. "Damn. Those supporting forces from Guardia better arrive soon!"

~ Event ~

Porre is under attack! Whoever arrives in Porre should be engaged in this battle. The enemies are scattered across the town, but are meeting with stiff resistance from citizens and soldiers alike. Do remember that most of the forces comprise of these blue-robed, hooded, human mages. There are monsters around as well, to serve as the 'tank'- to take the damage while the mage blast lightning bolts.

The main battle takes place at the Port of Porre.
