Chrono Trigger: A Past To Remember

~Plot~
The last war between monsters and human ended with the mysterious disappearance of Magus back in the year 600AD. With his disappearance, came a swift turn of tables. The monsters, without the help of the the magic-wielding Magus, lost the battle drastically.

Ultimately, they succumbed to a hurried signing of a peace treaty with the then King Guardia XXVII. However, is the war to end in this manner?

The monsters, under the rule of Ozzie VI, have other intentions...

~Setting~

The World Map

The World Map- with names. Ignore Fiona's Shrine

This role play is set in the world of Chrono Trigger, in the year 800AD. None of the canon characters would have been present at this time, nor is technology advanced yet. Even the greatest geniuses in this time do not have any clue about guns.

There is no Millennial Fair yet- meaning, the area on the map, with balloons.

Also, there is no Fiona's Shrine. Simply because this is set in the original timeline, in which Crono and party has yet to change. Nor is there Lucca's house. The island is there, but just imagine it without the house.

~Characters~

You may choose to be Monster or Human. However, note that the two bear a deep-rooted animosity for the other. Meaning. Monster hates Human and Human hates Monster. Though, Humans do not hate Monsters as much as the latter- after all, they won the war.

Of course, there are some exceptions, but those are few and far between. Nevertheless, below's the character sheet.

Another great question is the presence of magic. Since most of the magic users have died out some time back, by rights, I should completely disallow the usage of magic in the role play, but for your sake....

I'll allow it.

Also, I'm accepting characters from 'The Heroes' section of the Role Play Central- approved ones, of course. So, go ahead. My character will come later, or I might not have one specific one. I'll see first.

~Participating Characters~

CassinoChips = Luca Dhamon

Schwarze Leader = Christiane Freiherr

OliverSKX = Never Grasley

Tipsynaruto = Emilia Mariella

I do believe I would like to join. I'd like to use Luca Dhamon, linked here, but if he wouldn't fit this RP, just let me know and I'll use/create someone else.

Ohohoh! I wanna play! Um here:

Name-Never Grasley

Race-Human
Gender-male
Class-Samurai (like on FFT)

Magic- Never has the power to split himself into two beings, one being light one being is dark. When Never is in this form, the two being share the same stats, but both have different elements:

Light being
Dark being

Both being have the same magic attacks listed here:
Light/Dark Blast- Blast foes with energy from sword
Light/Dark posses- posseses enemy unit which kills itself and the enemy
Light/Dark syncro- teleports an ally nearby and both go in for a triple slash

When one being is killed the other still remains. When both beings are killed, Never dies with them. This power split of nevers can only be used in critical or desperate situations.

Never's other abilities are the draw out ability used by the samurai class. It allows Never to draw out spirits from an artifact and attack surrounding enemies. I guess it would count as a magic ability but, well....we'll see...

Appearance-Never has light purple hair and has hazel eyes. He wears a big purple cloak and constantly carries the Ever sword on a hilt. Never wears a black outfit under his cloak, but it's never seen because his cloak is always closed. He has a pet mose that lives in his cloak. His pet mouse is name Cheep. Essentially, Never is a character from a series of comic I created called "Never Ever".

Weapon-Never has but one weapon he carries called the "Ever sword" said to be crafted buy the bones of dead heroes. Its magic powers of Light and Dark are to restore balance to the world. It also transports Never to another dimension once he has rid a world of evil. It aids in Never's neverending mission to rid evil from every dimension possible.

Personality- Never is an optimist. He's pretty immature and loves to joke around....He's also got a slight case of ADD.

Back Story- Never came from a world called Altaria, which was filled with peace, but due to a wizard named Giza, he was givin the "Ever Sword" in order to travel dimensions of time and space and rid the past of evil from every dimension. If he does not do this his world will be taken over by a warrior who will summon every nightmare of the past. Never was on his mission erasing evil from the past with the Ever sword, when suddenly he was teleported to a different dimension...A dimension with a kingdom named Guardia...

never played chrono trigger. Will it help if i checked it up?

Since its a massive post war type of thing, ill use my medic, Emilia Mariella, post #25 on that page

Nice. I'm rather pleased with the turnout. There are currently 5 interested members, including me. To be honest, I can already start up the role play...!

@ CassinoChips

Sure. Your character doesn't seem to have any knowledge of magic, so there's little need to be concerned. Perhaps, synthesising weapons might be something out of Chrono Trigger, but I'll allow that.

@ OliverSKX

I'll have to admit, that's a really unique name.. However, it would seem this character of yours was transported into this world via some... Well, whatever. I'll accept it, nonetheless, but I'll like you to ensure that your character will not go ripping open some gate to another dimension halfway through the role play to toss the big bad guy inside it...

@ Schwarze Leader

Accepted! I don't mind seeing Ki around, so long you do not abuse it to a drastic extent- for obvious reasons.

@ Tipsynaruto

Guns... Well, I'll make an exception again. After all, just 200 years later, Lucca would be using some really high-tech weaponry... Nevertheless. Character accepted!

I doubt if it will make any difference if you checked out the original plot, though it may be possible due to personal curiosity. Not knowing the story should not affect your participating in this role play, so don't bother if you do not wish to know.

~~

Right.. What about myself? Great question... What I have in mind is for myself to play the random characters (NPCs) in the role play so as to push the story ahead.

I've went on to take inspiration from an already dead role play by Shattered Memories, The Last Stand. In the role play, I'll utilise an idea Shattered Memories came up with- the Events System.

I'll re-explain it again:

Every time an 'Event' occurs, I will put up a completely capitalised word, 'Event', in bold, to tell you of it. Usually, this would come after I play out all the NPCs, and have them get over to your character. If it evolves to something big, then it's an 'Event' that your character must encounter.

Of course, this would mean there are scenarios where because the 'Event' message is not put up, you may ignore it.

To sum it up. The 'Event' message will come up when something directly affects your character- which will be most of the time. It will also serve as a summary to explain what my post had been about.

E.G.

~EVENT~

Luca Dhamon gets attacked by a group of bandits.

The only magic he would be able to use would be magic that was drawn out of/inherent in a piece of armor or weapon or item. So if there's no magic in the world, there's nothing from which he could draw. And in that case, it really just makes him a glorified tinkerer and/or metalsmith. Lol.

Excellent. I had wanted to see that in action. Will you give options, like he had planned on doing? Or just a single event?

Ki is not always a factor in combat, but she would use it if necessary.

Plus, to answer (or not) your question, I think it may be a single event.

Yes. It is a single event. And fixed as well. How it is resolved is completely up to your character- according to his/her personality, of course.

Okay. I think I'm okay with this number of people participating. Updated the first post to show the participating members. The role play should begin tomorrow. Should.

Um Never cant "rip dimensions" or anything....The sword just brings him to diff dimensions, but only after his job is done which is participating in this rp! He wont do any time traveling stuff or dimension ripping because he simply cannot do it!

@ OliverSKX

That's good. Just wanted to clear some things up first.

That aside, I think I'll put up the IC thread now. You are all free to begin anywhere you deem fit, so long it is on the Western Continent. If you do not know where that is, that is the one with the castle on the continent. Preferably Truce, though that in itself is optional.

The first post will dictate the scenario, which your character may join in with, to easily meet up with the rest. Of course.. You may ignore it.. Because that's an Event as well... If you haven't read that post yet.. Go do it now... HERE!

Well, he'll be hanging around a slight bit with Emilia, so might as well make a brief profile. Since he is a side character with little chance of character developement, he'll be brief

Name: Brumak Theros

Race: Human

Gender: Male

Age: 27

Class: Warrior

Appearance: With a much more cheery and toothy smile. Stands at 2.3 meters with limbs thicker than most trees and a chest wider than two men.

pc_lineupSmall-1.jpg

Weapon: His blade is a single sided broad sword as tall as him at two meters. Although it has no name when it was created, he lovingly calls it "Sima"

First_Tsurugi___Sword_1_and_2_by_mo.jpg

Personality: Contrary to his gruff face, Brumak is always smiling and cheery. A bit dense and dumb, he is an optimist who lives by the day. He enjoys combat, but not killing. Killing is a possible side result of his profession, but it is not his form of entertainment. Has a soft spot for kids and the more girly things in life such as flowers and animals.

History: Not much can be said about Brumak. Born from a poor family and taken in as a slave after raiders, he was placed into the arena with other boys fighting against animals as a form of entertainment. He was one of the unlucky one that kept surviving, watching his friends die one by one. Only at the age of 14 did he escape miraculously.

This experience imprinted on him that any life is much better than his past and that he should be grateful for every extra day he survives. His mind and body had been molded purely for fighting and physical labour. Therefore, he works as a mercenary/bodyguard.

Accepted. Good to have another profile of your side character so others would know how to describe his appearances.

That, and there would be a 'reward' for clearing up the invasion of Porre. Just another part of the Events system though. Worth a try :P

Apologies for double posting.

But, I'll like to urge all participants of this role play who have yet to make his/her post to make it. Right now, there's only two.

OliverSKX, who have yet to respond to my post- in which I had the mysterious scythe-wielding soldier get in to help.

And, more importantly,

CassinoChips, who hasn't created a post to have his/her character get to Porre to participate in the remaining action.

I understand if your schedule's getting tight, but please try to stay active as much as possible. Also, it is normal to realize that your interest in the role play is diminishing. Just remember to tell me, and your next course of intended action to this dwindling interest.

Apologies for my lack of activity. A busy week combined with fighting the server combined to make me not too keen on posting. I'll get back into the swing of things here in short order.

i was just wondering, did Valkyrur say anything about a holiday? Normally, He is very active, so im just wondering if he's going to be gone for a bit.

He was on yesterday, I've already sent a PM to both players and Cassino already responded. Still awaiting a response from Oliver.

Actually, I did mention a brief escapade, though that is entirely a separate matter altogether. Right now, the reason why my activity levels are dwindling is because my computer crashed. It just refuses to start up!

Threatening it with violence sounds tempting, but nevertheless it doesn't start up.

As such, all posts are going to be made via my phone- which takes a lot of effort to manage.

One thumb versus ten fingers?

So you see. However, I believe this is temporary. Worse comes to worst, I'll use my phone for all future posts. But I'll pray that's not happening.

Just wanted to let you all know. I must apologise though, considering this came right after asking two players to increase their rate of activity. Sorry for not setting much of an example. Will try to get back on as soon as possible.

Accepted. Just find a way for your character to be in Porre, where the action is happening. And also, be sure to explain that your character's ancestry would involve a magic-using ancestor.

If you played Chrono Trigger, you should know that by this time period, magic was virtually nonexistent. However, since this is a fictional role play, I'm allowing magic. Point is, do remember to note that. It isn't compulsory to state that, but if someone in the role play were to question the origins of your magical strength, it would be appropriate to cite the aforementioned as reason.

That said, feel free to post in the IC, linked in my first post, if memory serves me right. Still, don't expect a swift reply from me though. I'll try my best to get the computer fixed up.

(And, I'm getting better at typing on my phone, it would so seem.)
