Battlegen Question

In the customization menu, I go to Battlegen. In Battlegen, I press the square button to display target. Here it shows different names of characters and the probabilities of creating an accessory. Here's the question: It shows names of characters right? So how do I get the accessory from them? Do I have to beat the character shown or do I have to use the character? For example: You can battlegen a Recovery Shard from Onion Knight and their is a 4.0% chance that I get one. So, do I have to beat an enemy using Onion Knight to obtain a Recovery Shard or do I have to beat an Onion Knight enemy to obtain a Recovery Shard? Please do help me.

I do believe that you have to use the character in the picture, so beat an enemy with Onion Knight.

EDIT: Actually, it may be the exact opposite. >_>

You have to fight against the specified character. However, there is a symbol, I think on the left side that shows what you have to do against the char. I can't recall all of the conditions, but some of them require a successful hp attack, brv attack, ex mode attack, wall rush the opponent, etc etc. If you fulfill the specified condition you have a percentage, in your example 4.0% to battlegen the item. Look at the symbols and you should be able to figure each one out. Hope this helps and good luck!

to battle gen the item, you need to fulfill the necessary conditions.. like inflict break, use hp attack, wall rush, destroy a destructible item in the field, use ex burst..
