I wouldn't mind a sequel, but only if it was done very well (unlike the disaster that was FFX-II)

I think no to any spin-offs, prequels or sequels because it will ruin the game
but a definate YES to a remake, and it should be on the PS3![]()
"Even if you end up as the world's enemy i'll ... i'll be your knight" - Squall Leonheart

Id like to see a spin off dealing with what seifer went thru. it would have to remain to the playstation systems either a ps3 or psp or both!
I leave this as a declaration of intent, so no one will be confused. One: "Si vis pacem, para bellum." Latin. Boot Camp Sergeant made us recite it like a prayer. "Si vis pacem, para bellum - If you want peace, prepare for war." Two: in certain extreme situations, the law is inadequate. In order to shame its inadequacy, it is necessary to act outside the law. To pursue... natural justice. This is not vengeance. Revenge is not a valid motive, it's an emotional response. No, not vengeance. Punishment.

A sequel? no. A remake? maybe...Personally, I think the story was wrapped up quite nicely. There's no basis for a sequel, so if they did make one, the plotline would most likely just be something they came up with off the tops of their heads that doesn't make that much sense (X-2 anyone?) and frankly, I'd rather have no sequel at all than to have a crappy one. So no!
As for a remake, I kind of like the idea of that. Having everything remade in clearer graphics sure would be nice, as well as adding voice actors. I wouldn't want any of the story or anything changed though.
..::Avvy and sig made by the amazing Colours::..

I dont see what possible story there could be on Seifer unless it was a sequel.
We know that through the game he grew up with Squall and co at the orphanage, then went to garden. After that he joined the sorceress etc. A game with seifer taking place at the same time FFVIII showing what he did, would be pointless as you would lose in the battles against squall. And you know where the story is going anyway.

Spinoff: no. Remake on a more current system:Yes!
It would interest me to see VIII remade on the ps3, regardless that i don't have one. I would even settle for them remaking it on the ps2 now, though that would be out of the question with the PS3 already roaming the markets. So i guess in the end i just want to see a good game remade with better graphics. : /

I don't see why it couldn't be remade for the PS2 seeing as the earlier titles were remade for the PS when the PS2 had already been out ages. So Id be all for a PS2 remake over PS3. I get the feeling that a PS3 remake would just be a graphics whore. It should be released uin a bumper pack with VI and VII
Anyway, I don't actually think it needs a remake, the only thing I found wrong with the original game was the horribly bitty characters, they just looked really untidy walking along with a nice backdrop xD

why the fuck
can they send men into space
but they cant stop hangover
bastards are wasting our time

I love 8, always will. And to be honest I wouldnt mind a remake. Its a stunning game and its sad people dont think it to be a good game. I mean, 7 got more fans due to all the crap thats followed it. I wouldnt want all of that to follow 8, but a remake would be nice.

I would prefer they'll make a continuos story for FF8, movie or game is alright. I even made a novel when I was in secondary school, the story is about the return of Ultimecia, but stopped because of exams. Remake FF8 into ps2 is an good idea, but they never annouce the success right?
remakes of a good game are always welcome imo, but a prequal/sequal is another story. to me ffx was good, but ffx-2 killed it. ffvii was good too but crisis core killed it for me, and AC was ok. as for ffviii, since so many complained about squall's personality, i guess they can make a sequal where squall's a little more cheerful and open (he did smile at the end) but then again this might kill it for me. yet then again, alot ot sequals and prequals (even the movie industries) had killed it for me.
