GLAVA ISLANDS, EMMERIA

(The Yuktobanian defense Command has detected a ship around the Glava Island chain. This ship is the Belkan aircraft carier, Njord. The Emmerian military on behalf of the Yuke Alliance has dispatched the Garuda team to try to either convince them to leave or sink the ship.)

Johnathan and his wingman, James have made it into the Island chain. "AWACS Ghost Eye to the Garuda Team, the Belkan Carrier is located in the center of the islands, your objective is to get them out of Emmerian waters, only use weapons if it does so come to it." "Understood, let's go Bahamut."
 
Walking across the deck of the Njord towards his F14 Iceman and his co-pilot slider were calm and collected as always, as for Iceman's wingman, Maverick, he was the same cocky person from flight school. Iceman and Slider climbed into the cockpit and got toed onto the launching strip. Iceman and slider clipped their oxygen masks over their mouths and gave a thumbs up to the crew members on the deck.

The deck crew gave a signal and Iceman launched. when he launched from the end of the carrier the captain of the boats voice came through the com "Iceman, Slider your mission is to destroy the Glava Island science facility, it is believe that they are developing new heavy machinery" Iceman's smirk was hidden by his mask "Hey slider, what say you to dealing with this then getting the hell home for nice steak meal" Iceman announced causing slider to laugh "hey Iceman, remember that we are on an aircraft carrier" Maverick's voice came down the radio Iceman began to giggle "Okay, a nice bowl of oatmeal" Maverick began to laugh "Oh yea baby"

the F14's of both Iceman and Maverick barrel rolled and dropped below 1000 feet, with the afterburners on the sea ocean was being thrown into the air behind them. "Come on Mav, lets see if you can keep up"
 
"Wait" AWACS Ghost Eye said, "2 fighters have launched from the Njord, they're after the Glava Island science facility, intercept them!!! "All right" James said "lets get them." The Garuda team's F-16's came down to 1000 feet and followed the enemy Belkan Squadron. John said "use your XMAA's to take them out, ready? 3....2....1....FOX 3, FOX 3!!!" John launched all 4 of his XMAA's towards the Belkan Squadron. James followed suit. "Now we wait for the enemy to take the bait."
 
Iceman smiled as Maverick and him split up "I guess there is some resistance, Hey mav, lets show them a good time" he announced as his F14 pulled up and the missiles shot past "Hey Mav, how you holding up?" Iceman asked down his radio "I'm fine Ice, lets toast these bogie's"

both Maverick and Iceman maneuvered their F14's behind the two F16's and sat on their tail's for a bit. "Hey Mav, i though they said that these would be ace's" Iceman announced as his F14 pulled up slightly and then spun upside down. the F14's pace picked up so he was over the cockpit of the F16 (piloted by Pheonix) "Ice what are you doing man???" Slider announced in horror "hey, Smile for the Birdie" Iceman announced as he raised his middle finger, placing it against the canopy, flashing it at the other pilot.
 
James saw the pilot give him the birdie, "Those Belkans are a cocky bunch are they?" John replied "They're members of the Round Table for a reason you know." John turned his F-16 away from the Belkan and got the lead Tomcat on his twelve, "Fox 2, Fox 2" John's F-16 launched 2 Missiles at the Belkan Ace. "Goodnight you Kraut"
 
Iceman slammed on his breaks and watched as Maverick shot pst him "Holy shit Ice what are you doing" Maverick announced as goose crapped himself, the Missiles changed Direction to follow Iceman's jet and he dove towards the deck, 5000 feet, 4000 feet, 3000 feet. 2000 feet. 1000 feet. Boom the two missiles hit the ocean and exploded "Ice, I can't see Ice anywhere" Maverick began to panic before a manacle laugh came through the radio "YEEEHAWWWWW" Ice shouted as his jet cruised along the ocean, at around 10 feet, water was spraying everywhere "Iceman, Re-engaging" he announced into the radio as his F14 pulled up and headed back towards the F16's "he missed" Ice announced with a smile "Mav, go finish the target, i got these two"

Iceman then got on the Six of the F16 that fired the missiles at Maverick "that was my wingman, bitch" Iceman flew right up behind the F16 "Hey slider, how about a repeat?" he asked down the radio "No" "No" "hell no" Mav and goose spoke first followed by Slider. "Switching to guns" Iceman announced before he began firing his machine guns at the tail end of the F16.
 
John was hit by the F-14's 20-mm Cannon "Dammit, I can't shake him, James this is up to you now." He pulls the ejector seat just as his F-16 exploded in a ball of fire. James, understanding what his leader wanted, charged towards the leading F-14, and fired his machine gun at him, trying to hit the plane, and force him to eject. "Eat Lead, Belkan!!!"
 
"Shit" Iceman announced as he was forced to roll out of the way of the burning fireball and also the bullets from the second F16. the F14 of Iceman was flying soundly but still unable to shake the F16, Ice knew if he made a mistake it was over. "Mav hows the mission going?" he announced "I'm nearly there" Ice dodged more bullets and began to worry about his impending doom "I can't shake him, Mav I can't shake him" Iceman's F14 was tossing and turning "Hit the breaks and he'll fly right by" Mav announced down the radio.

Iceman slammed on the air breaks and watched as the F16 shot straight past his jet, he then hit the afterburners and chased it "thank you Mav, hurry up and complete the mission"
 
"Dammit, Bahamut ejecting, no I can't get out" James F-16 was hit by the enemies missiles, destroying the plane and killing the pilot too. As John saw the fireball, he tried to contact James, but no response, he was dead. "Dammit, these Belkans are killing everybody."
 
"Yeeeeeehaw!!!" Iceman screamed as he saw the plane burst into flames, his F14 then spun and headed below 1000 feet as to pick up massive amounts of speed. as the afterburners kicked in once again Ice opened up his radio channel "Mav, come in mav, Both enemy birds are down,Iceman proceeding with mission" the F14of Iceman headed in the same direction that mavericks had headed in.
 
John parachuted down to the water, before doing so. He activated his beacon. After waiting for 30 minutes, he was able to see the rescue helicopter, he was able to climb up and hoping to make it back to Emmeria. Unluckily, he was "rescued" by a Belkan rescue helicopter. Now, John was now a PoW, and this was on his first mission too.
 
After blowing the Science lab into the middle of next September. Ice and Mav began a short flight back to the aircraft carrier. Mav landed first, closely followed by Iceman. "Slider, lets head down to the mess deck and get some food" Ice suggested. his Co-pilot and wingmen closely followed him all smiling and laughing.
 
As the Belkan chopper landed, John was carted over to one of the holding cells. To the Emmerians, being a PoW meant dishonoring and betraying your country. As far as they were concerned, he was dead to the Emmerians. That pilots were expendable, and they could always replace him. Although Johnathan shares a last name with the legendary Emmerian ace Marcus Lampart, they were actually no more than stepbrothers, he was an orphan after his father was killed and he was sent to an orphanage. Now, it was like he was back in that same orphanage.
 
Stephen, Slider Maverick and Goose. were all sat at their regular table having a bowl of oatmeal and a glass of water "perfect meal" announced Stephen to the other three men Slider began laughing "If you say so"


Once the three men had finished their meals they went their separate ways, Stephen and Slider to their quarters, Maverick and Goose to theirs. The four men were going for some well deserved rest.
 
2 Days later 0300 hrs.

John was escorted by armed guards out of hiss holding cell. He heard the guards saying that he was to meet with a very important person. When John entered the room he saw a man in a suit and a Belkan flag pin on his shirt. "Hello Mr. Lampart, or should I say, Mr. Steuben" was the first things that came out of his mouth. A confused John said, "Who are you?" "HEY, YOU DON'T TALK THAT WAY TO OUR LEADER!!!" One of the guards smacked him in the face. "But the President decided it was best for both guards to leave. "My name is Friedreich von Steuben, presidnet of Belka, and I've been tracking you for several years now." John said, "Why have you been tracking me?" President Friedreich responded, "Cause you're my nephew." This surprised the pilot, a man, who from out of nowhere, dropped a bombshell into his life.


"Then who am I" John said. Once again Friedrich responded "You are Johann von Steuben, your father, my brother, is Karl-Heinz von Steuben. He was Belka's ambassador to Emmeria, until he was killed during the Belkan War to assassins. I ordered the Emmerians to send you to an orphanage in that country. It was there that we have begun watching you grow up. Become a pilot and fought for your country. When this.....war started, I was worried about you, so I sent an elite squadron, to shoot you down, but not kill you. We want you to help us win this war and achieve peace." "Why should I help you" John asked. "Well, it's not like you have a choice." The president, his uncle, was right. He knew that he was branded a traitor to Emmeria, and it wasn't like there was anywhere else to turn to. John finally said, "Alright, I'll join" His uncle smiled, "Good, you will be the commander of the Air Force's 4th Fighter squadron, known as Schnee, they fly F-14's. You know about those, right?" "Yeah, I know about them." John stated. The president made his order, "Good, for now, you will be stationed on the Njord. You will be receive further orders once you're aboard, they should be docking in the capital city, Dinsmark." John, now nown as Johann walked off with the president, out of the jail. For the first time since he was captive, he saw the bright sun in his eyes. A new light, a new life, now under the banner of the Belkan Federation.

Stephen and Slider strode off of the carrier with Maverick and Goose. there was a loud screech and a blond haired lady ran over to them "Sam" she screeched as she jumped on Slider causing Iceman to laugh. she looked over to Ice and smirked "so you still manage to bring him home in one piece" she announced "As promised" Stephen replied, the blond was returned to the floor by her Husband and walked over to Stephen, She slapped him "and thats for your cockiness to the other Pilot, thats right he told me about you flipping them off" Stephen laughed and walked away "hey guys,see you in a couple of days" he announced as he saw two more Ladies run past him, Maverick and Goose's wives.

Stephen strode through the Bases car park and over to his Nissan 350Z. he unlocked the door and climbed in. he started the engine and drove off, he was heading home.
 
As he got to Dinsmark harbor, Johann saw the Njord on dock. As he made his way up, Johann saw his new dark grey-painted F-14 on standby. Also on deck was a Green painted EA-6B on deck. "So, you must be the new pilot Air Force Command told me about." Johann turned towards the captain and said, "Yes,sir" "Alright, get aquainted with the plane, that'll be your plane, he pointed to the F-14 on the starboard side of the carrier. Johann stated "Sir, yes sir"
 
As Stephen drove his phone began to ring, he checked the caller ID, it was the president of Belka "oh crap,must be important" Stephen announced as he pulled over and answered it. "Hello" a voice on the other end began to talk"Mr Hownam,please report back to the Njord, yourself and Slider will be dispatched with a new Squadron in two days" Stephen Smiled "Yes sir" he replied as he hung up and turned the car around. Stephen loved being at sea, he had no family so he proffered staying at sea. although he felt Sorry for Sam and Jenny (Slider and Mrs Slider) he beganthe drive back and was there within10 minutes.

as he reported back on Deck the captain greeted him "ahh, I see i have you and Slider back" the captain announced Stephen saluted him "Yes sir" the captain shook Iceman's hand "wouldn't have it any other way, although youhave been assigned to a new Squadron" Stephen Sighed "the Schnee Squadron" Stephen tensed his torso in an attempt not to laugh. "you Don't pick the names you justfly for them" the Captain informed him. Stephen looked over at a new Pilot Inspecting Schnee 1 "why is he allover my plane? captain" the Captain looked at the deck "you will be in Schnee 2" Stephen looked at the captain "Wha..." "Are you disputing orders" the captain interrupted "no sir" Replied Stephen.

Stephen Strode over to the man "I'm Stephen 'iceman' Hownam, looks like I'll be watching your Wing" he announced to the man as he offered his right hand for the other pilot to shake.
 
He heard that voice before, from that engagement over the Glava Islands. it was that guy who shot him down. However, they were allies this time instead of enemies so he decided to forget about it. "Name's Johann, I'm the squadron leader" He shook Stephen's hand. So, We're to set off for the Twinkle Island chain.
 
Stephen smiled at his leader's response "i don't know, just got my orders sir" Stephen smiled "I haven't had time to read them, but if thats where your going then I guess im heading there to..." Stephen paused "your fucking joking me" Stephen looked atthe floor "I shot you down,in Glava" Stephen ran his right hand through his hair "and now your my captain...great" he announced sarcastically s he looked over at the captain then back to Johann, "All due respect, your a good pilot, but I'm better" Stephen took a step back"I should be leading this Squad" he announced before saluting Johann and walking away.
