Guilt...

When you defeated a member of the organization, did you feel any sort of guilt for one of them? It was said that the members of the organization did not have hearts and there for could not feel anything and that the emotion that they were supposidly putting through was only what they remembered of the emotions they use to feel when they were 'somebody'.

But with Demyx I felt that his feelings were genuine and I did feel guilty when I defeated him and when

Axel died he did comment on the fact that Roxas and Sora made him feel like he had a heart

. Though the real intentions was for them to have only memories of emotions, I really did feel guilty or sad after defeating some of them, expecially Demyx and later on when

Spoiler!

Axel gave his 'life'.

I have read many fanfics that think this same way: That is stating that the 'nobodies' actually did feel and that on its own has made me feel a little sad as to their deaths.

What you have said is in harmony most excellent with my thoughts.

Sai'x's death I found particularly plaintive. 'Kingdom Hearts....where is my heart?' I indeed found myself wondering, 'Just why in all mercy are we attempting to ruin the plans of these fellows?' Yes, I know that they betrayed Ansem, turned many innocents into Heartless in an attempt to realise their goal, and messed up general harmony across the worlds, actions which require punishment, but the goal itself is not a malign one, not like the apocalypse that Xehanort's Nobody tried to trip in the original Kingdom Hearts. Even with all that happened, why did they not deserve to improve their existence? It does seem that retribution was the only purpose to all of the final fight.

Furthermore, I cannot see how it is possible for the Organization to be completely bereft of ANY emotion. Without emotion, there is no motivation.

The nobodies did have traces of emotion and I did feel sorry for them. They reminded me of children, they not think of anything but their desperation for a heart; they were obsessed. As they could not feel proper emotions, they could not feel sad or guilty for deaths of the people they killed with the heartless and therefore could not understand the error of their ways. In the end the only way for the Organisation to be put out of their misery was for them to die.
