It started off like any normal day for Vex, well as far as normal goes for him now. Vex was sitting down on a stool at the local bar, where he was sitting at the counter trying to find out some information. He was quietly drinking when he overheard a conversation going on between two of the other occupants.

“So have you heard, the neighboring town of Daziel is having some problems, something about the earth shifting around?” The second voice replied “Yea, I heard it’s been giving them a bad crop season as well, and that their soil is poor as well.”

Vex swirls around the glass he is currently holding and thinks to himself,” So now after all this time one of them seems to have reveled themselves. I wonder if he knows of this, well I better be along the way then and get going. Excuse me Gentlemen” Vex looks to the two men, “Can you tell me what direction this town is I would like to see if I could help them at all.”

The two men tell Vex that Daziel is about a days walk to the east, they advise him against going because of the strange occurrences around the area but Vex dismisses them and thanks them politely for their time. As Vex walks outside and leaves the bar he wonder again to himself “I wonder what I’ll do if indeed there is one of the gems their. Some force must have caused it’s activation but I just hope it’s something I can handle.”

(OCC ok everyone this is where you can start coming in)

Damian sat under a small tree strumming the strings of his guitar. he contiually played, but no words would come from his mouth.

'I've been gone from Arion for a month now, and still can't find the inspiration to sing again. I guess I must travel a little further.'

He got up and strapped the instrument to his back. Looking around he noticed a town in the distance. It was surround by what looked like crop fields, but the were barren. This place almost reminded Damian of the home he left behind.

'They must be having trouble getting the crops started this year. Maybe I should go help. who knows it might be a little refreshing doing some physical labor again.'

When he reached the town he found it strangely deserted. He searched the streets in search of life, but couldn't find anything until he heard a little whisper.

"What are you doing out there? Hurry up and get in here."

The voice had come from a small boy that was peering out of the door of a small house. Damian ran towards the house. when he went in he noticed that the boy was all alone.

"What is this place and where is everyone?"

The boy replied to him in a small voice, "This town is called Daziel. We normaly are out working on the crops, but strange things have started to happen. It's gotten to the point where everyone just hides in there houses. I just wish that I had gone with my parents when they left a while ago."

"What sort of strange things are you talking about?"

"Well, it started when the ground began to move on it's own. That ruined the crops we did have. And more recently, we have noticed that there is something dangerous out there."

"Well I'd be glad to help stop whatever is out there so you shouldn't have to fear."

"NO! you can't go out there on your own. people have tried to stop it already. We still do not know their fate."

"Ok. So I'll just wait here with you for now. I'm sure someone will come to help, and I'll be ready to give a helping hand."

"Leon, do you have to scorch someone every time He sends you on an errand?" a female voice asked from outside.

A woman garbed in black and wearing a red coat leaned against the wall outside of the door. Her hood was pulled over her head, keeping her eyes and hair hidden to prying eyes. She was looking rather bored, her arms crossed and her foot up against the wall. She then pushed herself off of the wall and stepped on the threshold, leaning on the doorframe.

"Let's just hurry this up, eh?" she asked impatiently. "We don't want Him to get pissed at us for being late again."
You know, a voice in her mind noted, you could help him look for it.
A smirk twisted her lips. So? I trust he'll find everything intact. She glanced over at her living companion and said, "Might as well take everything instead of the promised fifty percent."

Vex finall arrived in the town of daziel and looked around, he saw nothing but barren land. All he saw was dried up cracked earth, and in some places patches of brown grass, any crops that were still out were dried and withered.

He went into thought, " What kind of force could cause a negative reaction to the gems. If it's the earth gem that became active here what could have a strong enough energy to cause it to go into a reverse effect?"

Vex continued to walk around town some more and soon noticed two people standing inside a house. He stopped and saw that they were talking, and after a while noticed that they were not looking outside at all. So soon he began to walk up to the house and was hoping to get answers to what was happening here. When he finally got to the house he knocked on the door waiting for someone to open. He yellled loud enough though so he could be heard. " Hi my name is Vex, and i came here to see if I could help your town out at all."

Shenorai looked over at the door, her hand flying to the handle of her shotgun when she heard it knock. Once she heard the muffled voice make his offer, a sly grin came across her face. She glanced over at Leon, a little game brewing in her mind.

"Do you want to answer the door or shall I?" she asked, keeping her tone low enough for Leon to hear.

A voice. Someone was yelling a few houses down from where Damian and the boy were hiding. The boy's eyes grew wide andhis face pale.

"Are you okay there?" Damian asked.

Without a word the boy slowly got up and peered out the window.

"There is someone out there," the boy replied. "He's going to get hurt. I just know with the noise he just made."

"Well I better go help him."

"No! You will only get hurt too."

Damian gave the boy a gentle smile.

"I'll be ok. I promise."

Damian took the guitar off of his back and handed to the boy.

"I want it back as soon as I'm done out there."

"Okay."

Damian stepped out of the house and closed the door. He walked silently toward the man that had been yelling so as not to attract any unwanted attention.

As he arrived at the town of Daziel, Arthvader walked around the town. Looking for a place to stay over for a little while, Arthvader headed towards a house and knocked at the door. Just in case of an emergency, he held one of his swords in preparation.

Arthvader "Hello, is anyone there??"

as the door opened, a villager appeared behind the door.

Villager "Who are you?"

Arthvader "My name is Arthvader. I just entered this village and I'm just wondering if I can stay here for a while?"

Villager "For now, I can't let anyone in. You can always try the inn that's a little ways from here."

Arthvader "Ok. Thanks for the info. See you then."

As he heads towards the inn, Arthvader notices two people right at the merchant's place, along with the merchant. he then notices that one of the people was one of his old allies.

'What's she doing here, and why is she holding her shotgun out in the public.'

He then headed towards the merchant's place to find out

Damian got closer and closer to the man standing outside. So far the man had not noticed him. When he was only a few paces away, Damian noticed that there were people inside the building which the man stood in front of.
"Do you know what is going on in this town?"Chris called out to the man.

Zeria sighed and walked some more. She was exhausted and already had dealt with more than she'd wanted to. Being attacked by a group of 20 bandits was not her idea of fun when she was on a mission.

"Stupid bastards...they just had to bother me! Now look at this! I have a small cut on my shoulder and i have to refresh my medical supplies!"

She had run out a few days before.

"I knew I should have stopped in that town I passed, but I just kept walking....ugh, I should've stopped to rest too. I haven't slept in 5 days"

As she stumbled upon the familiar town of Daziel, though, it was unusually quiet, minus a bit of yelling she picked up....

"HEY! WHO'S OUT THERE?!" she called, beginning to run through the town, trying to seek out the yells....

Vex finally noticed two othwe people in the town other then himself. One being a lady and the other a guy. His first reaction is to tell the young lasy to quiet down from the yelling, so when he finally get's close to here he says something.

"Hey miss, umm you should really quiet down here, I mean come on you hardly see anyone in town and you start yelling, are you that desprate to draw attention to yourself? Though as to your question my name is Vex, and i'm here to investgate something."

He then looks over to the man who said, "Do you know what is going on in this town?". Vex looked over at him and gave a shrug of he doesnt know sort of ways. He then waved his hand around the town and began to say something.

"Well from what I can guess and gathered already, the land around this place is dying. So that means the crops for harvest don't come up. The thing though is why, I think not even a couple of weeks ago this place was booming with activity, so why this sudden change? Well it seems your intresred in what is happening just as much as I am, so why don't we team up and let's see if we can find out what's happening together? So what do you say?"

Vex holds out his hand for any of the two people to shake, in fact he was hoping to himself that at least one of these people would accept his offer. If he had anyone try and help him find the cause of this, it might also help him decide if a gem was truly around this area.

Zeria stared awkwardly at the new guy called Vex. She didn't trust him...she didn't trust anyone, not when she hadn't known them and they hadn't earned her trust. She sighed and shook his hand anyway.

"I have a name...it's Zeria Iiyasei. Learn it well and never forget it! And I don't know what I'm doing here. I'm just here on a mis...nevermind"

She quickly turned away, her fiery red hair blowing in the breeze.

{Damnit, Zeria, keep your mouth shut! You can't tell anyone about this mission!}

All of a sudden, she shuddered and wrapped her arms around herself.

"God, it's damn cold out here! Hey you...uh...Vex..." She stared at him.
"You know anywhere warm around here? It's a bit cold when I'm wearing nothing but all this leather and my cape...."

It was true. Even though she was already pale by nature, she was turning even whiter. She was shivering so hard, that you could hear the rattling of her swords that were strapped to her back.

"Well?!"

Damian took Vex's hand.
"My name is Damian. There's a little boy in one of the houses that I promised I would do what I can. So a team up would be perfect."
He then turned to Zeria.
"And you need some warmth? Well heat is my specialty."
He took out his sword and stabed the tip into the ground. With a quick though the blade burst into flames.
"It's not any warmer in the buildings right now so this will have to do for you. Just don't try to touch it. It will leave a very nasty burn."
Damian turned to Vex.
"So what exactly were you doing standing out here?"

"Me, well I wasn't doing anything here in paticular. I was in the castle town about a day's travel west from here. I heard of this town and the strange happenings so I decided to check it out myself. Some of the people there tried to warn me about coming here, but i'm intrigued about the possible danger and why this place just changed so suddenly."

Vex stares Damian "Your name is Damian right, so then what brings you here if I can ask? Vex looks Damian over, as if studying him for any signs of threat. He then looks over to Zeria.

"So your name is Zeria is it, and I take it you are here for something as well? Well then with all three of us working together i'm sure were bound to find out what it is that we are seeking for.?

Vex takes off his cloak that he was wearing and hands it to Zeria, "Though it may not be much it might help you some, so take it."

Zeria turned a shade of light pink.

"But...won't you get cold if you give it to me?"

She shook her head and looked at the guy called Damian.

"You don't need to worry about me and fire. You see this blade right here? It's called the Hellfire Blade. It protects me from almost all fire magic"

She sighed and looked towards the sky. It was late and she was really tired, but she had to keep looking for what she was supposed to find. If she didn't hurry, this town would be doomed and her mission a failure....she stopped again.

"Really, Vex, your cloak isn't necessary. I will be fun when I can get moving again..."

Her lie was obvious, but she didn't care. She didn't trust anyone. She sort of recognized Damian, as if she'd seen him somewhere before, but let it off. It was of no importance now.

"If you need my help, i'll will assist you, but stay out of my way when it comes to a fight..."

Damian bowed to Zeria and sheathed his sword. The flame emediately vanished.
"I'm am just a wanderer. I was hoping I could find a place here where I can get some suplies or a bed for the night. I used to work with the land myself, and thought that I might lend a hand. It seems though that the troubles with the earth here are not normal ones that I have encountered. Something has scared the people here."

Zeria shook her head.

"I too have heard about that. I was told that this was once a peaceful, flourishing town, but look at it now. It's beyond dead..."

She frowned.

"This is going to make it a lot more difficult if the people are already afraid and gone. It leaves me with no possible clues to finding the...uh...nevermind"

{Damnit, Zeria! Get ahold of yourself! You can't slip up, even if these two are trying to be helpful! Remember what happened last time you gave away your trust too quickly}

She shuddered from the memory and felt a tear roll down her cheek.

"What the..." she said quietly. She didn't understand...why was she shedding tears now?

Vex just looked over to Zeria and sighed as he drapped his cloak away from her and whiped her tear away.

"Really now there is no need to lie, so just take my cloak and let it be at that. Sides i'm used to the cold. It's ok if you don't trust us that much really. After all we did just meet, but I do say it hurts that you can't trust us enough to watch your back. If any one of us wanted to try something don't you think we would have done so by now."

With his cloak gone, Vex's sword was reveled. Yet unlike other swords where the hilt was just regular, his was a bit of a flatened sphere shape. There was also some holes in the sphere like area as if something was ment to be held there.

"There has to be something suppernatural to thos occurence." Now as if lost in thought, Vex thought he would try a diffrent approach while not to give out who he really was.

"Say have you two ever heard the fairy tales of the Kialal. How they were supposed to be people of great power and such. Haha I remember my mother telling me that some even said these Kialal had controll over the elements themselves due to some gems they crafted. I wonder... nah after all they are a fairy tale so something like that couldn't be true."

Deciding to go back towards the inn, Arthvader heard a voice from afar.

Zeria "This is going to make it a lot more difficult if the people are already afraid and gone. It leaves me with no possible clues to finding the...uh...nevermind"

he headed Towards the voice. As he Arrived, He notices Zeria, sheading some tears now. He also notices Vex. He then decided to speak to them.

Arthvader "Hey, It's been a while, Zeria, Vex. What's wrong, Zeria?"

Zeria gasped when she saw Arthvader. It'd been quite a while since she'd seen him.

"My god, Arth! How've you been?!" she cried, hugging him happily. This was the first contact she'd had with someone in a long time that she knew.

"I can't believe it! What's up with you? You look great, Arth. Your training must be going very well if you're in such excellent shape..."

SHe smiled, easily throwing off the feeling of sadness she'd previously felt. Anything would work, if she could stop looking weak in front of Damian and Vex. She couldn't trust them and she couldn't allow them to see her letting her guard down so much. She kept one hand on her left side gun, just for safety purpose.

"We should all go. Arth, I'd be very honored if one of my fellow comrades would accompany me on a journey such as this. I'll fill you in on the details as we walk.....shall we go?" she said, a smile hiding the sorrow she'd briefly felt from before...
