Eternal Flame

Countless dimensions have existed since the dawn of time. But many scientists have wondered ... is there a key to all of this? Through an attempt to discover the truth, many scientists and researchers have died. Why is this? Must the truth not be foretold? There are many dimensions, but they all share the same destiny no matter how different they may appear or be.

But there is a key to all the dimensions existing: the Enlightened Goddess. She controls the weight of the dimensions on her shoulders and should there be enormous damage to a certain dimension, then it takes its toll on her.

In Alit Town, there are a few youths that want to know more about their dimension and the truth beyond their town. However, mysterious creatures only known as the Shadows have been preying upon several dimensions for sometime now. Their attention has come to Alit Town and the Enlightened Goddess is there ...

If I may, I have several questions.
1, Will this RP feature races?
2, What dimensions are you talking about?
3, Are there any limits I should know about?
4, is this a modern or medieval time?

If I may, I have several questions.
By all means, ask.

1, Will this RP feature races?
That's entirely up to the people joining.

2, What dimensions are you talking about?
Made up dimensions. They don't have to be real dimensions.

3, Are there any limits I should know about?
No godmodding good enough for you?

4, is this a modern or medieval time?
Modern time with technology and medieval weapons. It can be any. It is basically kind of like a Final Fantasy IX time.

Based on what you have told me, and some suggestions made. Here is my bio:

All I remember is coming to a castle, and a guard looked at me, the next thing I know, I'm in jail temporarily; It has been 6 years since that day, and I'm still here. You know, next to my cell, there is a man that howls out in the night, and there is a hole the size of a fist so I can look through, and it appears he was losing the last of his humanity. Dear God, something is about to happen. When it does, its going to be a hell of a ride."

Bio: Faith was born in a dimension known as Delire. She was a special child with abilities far beyond her control. As one of the Potential Lights destined to become the Enlightened Goddess, she had trouble controlling her powers and was soon doomed to live in the home of her parents for the next several years whilst not being able to mix with kids of her own age. When Faith was about eight years old, dark creatures began to attack her home dimension and so, for her own safety, she was sent away to a dimension known as Alit Town.

It was here in Alit Town that Faith adapted to it and mysteriously forgot about her past life in the dimension of Delire. She had friends around and was stronger than she looked. How that was, was unknown. At least it was unknown to those around her. With the last Enlightened Goddess willingly giving up her own life, the responsibility of being the Goddess was handed to Faith. She doesn't know it yet, but the power she wields will soon reveal itself. Whilst she will discover everything soon, those same dark creatures are coming to Alit Town to destroy the dimension and everything in it, including Faith ...

Bio: "small places, small lifes. How vague can it be? Sometimes i wish i would find the perfect place and stop traveling. Studying dimensions is fun and all...but it gets so boring at times. Fighting the same useless, weak fools, life can get any more boring? I want to know more... I want more! For 5 years I've been traveling around Hyne and I've never come up with an answer. But something happened...something everyone overlooks. When an animal feels insecure and starts running away, or growling at nothing, it means that something is coming, something important, something i will discover and finally get the answer i've been looking for."

May I join? :D

Name: Ein (Real name unknown.)
Age: 19
Gender: Male

Appearance:
URL]

Weapon(s): Ein always carries a pistol with him, and a serated knife, though he can turn almost anything into a weapon. He is skilled in most forms of armed combat, which include swordplay, staff fighting, and he is also able to use almost any firearm. He is also skilled in unnarmed combat, too.

History: Ein doesn't remember anything that has happened to him before the age of seventeen. He awoke in a military prison in the middle of nowhere. He managed to escape this prison, though, and was surprised to find that he was capable of using various form of combat to his advantage. Since then he's been on the run from the people who sought to capture him once more.

Special Powers: Ein is able to make use of the fire element, to a minor extent. Most of the time, when he tries to make use of this strange power, he fails. However, should he get angry, he will unleash a raging torrent of flame upon his opponents.

Personality: Ein finds it easy to mix in with people, and despite his current situation, is rather comical and a great person to be in the company of. However, he can also be incredibly serious, depending on the situation.

If this hasn't started yet, may I make an appearance? (I feel so evil for posting here...)

Name: Eyan (pronounced as Ian) Jordan
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Weapon: Dirks/Throwing Knives
Power: Eyan has power over luck. Be it a dice roll or a swing at an enemy, Eyan always wins. He's a professional gambler, so this works out well for him. He's also in tune with wind.
Appearance: (Yeah, that's Setzer.)
Bio: "Yeah, I've been sittin' in this piss-poor town for a while. 'Course, I made 'em piss-poor! Man, the dice just fall right for me! Anyway, I've felt a change in the winds. Good change, methinks. Means I'll something to do, eh? Heh heh, I smell an adventure!"

OOC: It's starting ... NOW.

Faith was in the quiet streets of Alit Town. For the third day in a row, she was wondering to herself. How had she gotten here? Was there more beyond this dimension? The answers would slowly reveal themselves in time, she knew it. She had been having these strange dreams lately of a beautiful woman, who went by the name of the Enlightened Goddess, standing in a dark place with dark beings around her when a man with long silver hair and dark red eyes appeared out of nowhere and tried striking her down with his creatures. But instead of being killed, the woman had killed herself ...

I have to find out who she is ... it might happen again tonight. She sighed. She was expecting something, anything, to happen today. But it never did. After all, this was Alit Town, a peaceful town living in social harmony.

OOC: YAY!

IC: Ein awoke suddenly to the sound of snapping twigs. His eyes snapped open and he leapt out of his hammock, knife and pistol out at the ready. He scanned the heavilly wooded area, trying to locate whatever it was that was making the noise. It wasn't close enough to cause any immediate harm, as it would have set off the trip wires he had tied in a large circle around where he slept. Peering into the woods, his eyes widened as he saw a large monster, followed by a number of smaller ones.

Not wanting to risk fighting these, he decided to head off, but he'd have to leave everything behind, except for his weapons. He walked off in the opposite direction from which the monsters were coming from. They've most probably picked up his scent, as they were downwind from him. Still holding his weapons, he walked off at a swift pace, looking behind him every few seconds. Suddenly there was a loud jangling, followed by a loud roar. They had set off the alarm, and this was Ein's que to sprint away as fast as he could.

He didn't bother to look back. He knew they were coming after him, and they weren't happy at all. He put on an extra burst of speed, leaping over tree roots and ditches, bursting through hedges. Though it was daylight, not much of the sunlight found its way through the entangled branches and masses of leaves. Suddenly, there was an erruption of earth on both his left and right, and two monsters came spinning out of the ground, landing on their feet and sprinting either side of him, still carrying their momentum.

The two monsters closed in on him quickly, snarling viciously. Ein rolled over, twirling around as the first of the two monsters reared up at him. He swiftly aimed his gun at the monster's torso and fired two shots, both of which entered the monster's heart. As he did that, the other monster leaped at him, and he feel back, with the monster pinning him down, getting ready to close its jaws over his head. With his free hand, he lashed out with his knife, cutting the monster across the face. It backed away, roaring in anger. Ein didn't wait, and fired at the monster's head, which exploded in a mass of blood.

Getting back up onto his feet, he continued sprinting. The forest thinned, but he could still hear all the other monsters persuing him. Finally he burst out of the forest and into a field. He squinted as his eyes adjusted to the now bright sunlight. He looked back and saw that the monsters were reluctant to follow him out of the forest. 'What the hell are they?' he thought.

He looked ahead of him and noticed there was a town there. So he headed towards it, and soon came on to a well-worn dirt track. Caravans were coming in and out of the town, most probably to trade materials. No one gave him a second glance as he made his way to the town. He was greeted kindly by some of the travellers leaving the town, and as he came in through the gates, he read a sign saying 'Welcome to Alit Town'. Smiling a little, he walked into the busy highstreet.

Bao awoke with sweat poring underneath his fur, that man in the cell next to him was screaming in pure torment. From what the Lupox could see, his skin had morphed to a deep black, and he looked even more like a demon. There was a sudden clanging sound and people yelling at the top of their lungs. Bao looked out of his cell and saw it was unlocked, the door creaked open, and he slowly walked out.

Bodies were all over, blood dripped from the ceiling, and bodies had residues of some kind of black ink, which, once touched, receded back onto the victim. "What the hell...?"

Faith walked around Alit Town alone. She was vulnerable and pretty easy to be attacked. But still, she didn't know of who she was ... not yet, anyway. She sighed. For she was always alone ... or so it seemed. There was a competition going on in the town centre. So she decided to go. What the heck ... let's go and join. Passes the time, anyway. She ran down the small hill and went to the judges. She knew who they were ... Emmus, Askral and Venus. "Hi," she said. "I'm Faith. I'd like to join the competition." The lead judge looked at her. "You're in good shape and all you need now is one of these," said Askral. He handed her a huge bat. "What do I need this for?" asked Faith. "Why! It's for the competition!" said Venus. "Just use it to hit the other person," said Emmus, looking happy as he always did. "Ok, then," said Faith. "Go and wait with the other competitors," said Askral.

Faith looked at the other competitors. It had been awhile now since she had competed to be the strongest. But the farthest she had only gotten was to the final when she took on Askral himself, who was a strong competitor, but had now retired due to his middle age. Why do I feel an immense power within me? I've felt like this for a few months now ... maybe I'm just overreacting to this. Faith sighed. She didn't look happy.

She looked back at the other competitors. Some of them were around her age, a few were even older than her. That look on her face appeared, the innocent look. She sighed. It had been about nine years now since she had moved to Alit Town. She couldn't recall the life she had before then. But little did anyone know it, there were mysterious beings watching them from a distance ... their claws ready to slash and strike them ...

As Ein wandered the streets, he came across a sign advertising a competition of some sort. There was a lot of prize money for the winner, and it seemed to be some form of combat competition. Ein smiled. He could do with the money. So he went to the place where the competition was held. He came into the arena and stood with the other competitors, most of whom looked at him in mild bewilderment at the sudden arrival. One of the judges came over to him. "What do you want?" he asked, somewhat irratated.

Ein grinned. "I've come here to compete," he said.

The judged seemed to think for a moment and then produced a bat. "Alright, here," he said.

Ein waved his bat around experimentally, testing its weight and grip. It seemed dependable enough to fight with, so he took to waiting. As he looked at the other competitors, he felt his energy rise. This had never happened before, and it surprised him. He looked over at the young girl who was also competing. A similar energy seemed to be emitting from her.

Feeling slightly uneasy, he tried not to think about it. Better to wait and see what happens.

Bao trembled, whatever did this to the prisoners was NOT human. He inched away as a loud growling noise followed him, a black creature came nearby and feasted on the deceased guard. The Lupox walked silently away and went down a ladder to find the exit, the shadow creature sniffed the air and lunged toward him. Bao quickly took a rusted sword and impaled it through its heart, its form quickly turned back into a man.

Lifeless, but a man. He shrugged and stepped into the morning sunlight, and was surprised see a local tournament for something. The furred Lupox walked over, with many people staring up at his large figure, at the tournament.

"The competition for Alit Town's strongest combatant will now begin!" announced Venus. "Here are the battles on the chalkboard." "Oh well ..." sighed Faith. She looked at the chalkboard and saw that she was paired up against a big muscular man. I can take him ... I think. "Let the first round commence!" said Emmus. Faith was squaring off against Siever. She took the bat and looked ready to take him on. "Heh, this should be easy," said Siever. "Easy?" said Faith, looking confused. You wish. They clashed with their bats.

Faith still felt uncertain. She felt someone was watching her ... or that some strange events were about to occur. Faith forgot about it and defeated Siever within seconds. "Damn you!" he said and took out a dagger. Askral stepped in with his long blade. "No stabbing or killing," he said. "This is a fair competition." Siever growled and walked away. "Looks like you win the first round, Faith." Faith smiled and went to the stands to watch the next fight.

Ein stared at the great big, furry human-like creature that walked into the arena. A lot of people didn't seem to notice as the first fight commenced. There was an eruption of cheers as the young girl won in mere seconds. "NEXT FIGHT!" boomed the announcer. "Ein vs Adonis!"

Ein stepped into the arena alongside his foe, who seemed to be of similar build to himself, but no less experienced in battle. And he seemed really athletic, too. The crowd cheered as the fight began. Adonis launched himself at Ein, making incredibly swift and accurate swings with his club, but Ein dodged them easilly. He smiled as his opponent backed away to ready himself for another charge. His face set in concentration, he let out his battle cry as he charged towards Ein. Suddenly, Adonis was sprawled out on the floor several meters away, clutching his head and groaning in pain.

The crowd was silent, as even they didn't see what had happened. Ein walked over to Adonis and held out his hand to help the man up. He grasped it firmly as Ein pulled him back up onto his feet and he bowed gratefully as he shook hands with Ein. "And an excellent display of sportsmanship there!" said the announcer. "Now for the next fight!"

The crowd cheered as Ein and Adonis walked off in opposite directions. Ein glanced over at the girl, who seemed to be troubled about something. Then he glanced over at this lupine. Who was that? He wondered if he'd come up against the lupine or the girl in the following rounds. It should prove to be very interesting.

Bao shrugged his shoulders and stepped away, the tournament only involved fighting. The Lupox found a local tavern, and ate vigorously "Geez, son, you act like yeh never eaten before." the tavernkeeper said and handed him his 12th bowl of stew. He bowed slightly and left the man gawking at the amount of dishes. "...Where to now?"
